Now in my previous blog all of you relly answered my question why Lord of the rings is scored 8.4 and I thank you for that. Now can you please tell me is there anything really worth playing now. I have tried it and felt like something is missing in that game. Graphic is good that is for sure, storyline well about that I must dissagree that is better than of World of Warcraft. If all of Tolkiens work was presented right LOTRO would have been the best MMORPG ever but since that is not the case I feel sorry for all of you who claim that LOTRO has work of Tolkien, it has not and will never have probbably, and that is not just my oppinion. I found myself very dissapointed at story, I believed that I will get true dark and depresive Tolkien experience with just a little light at the end of tunnel to keep hope and eventualy lead to victory.
Ok so lets forget about story ( i do not like it ) and graphic ( i do not care for that ) and focus on gameplay. I want something new to play and LOTRO has crossed my mind but since I do not have positive experience with it I am little unsure should I buy it. Oh yes community is not better in LOTRO than in any other game I have played but that again could be just my bad luck (beeing on some stupid server maybe). So I will like to ask all of you LOTRO players how is the gameplay?
I had tried vith Elf mage and did not felt like I was playing with mage, it felt more like druid of some kind or ranger hibrid. Other classes are, well all deja vu. Can you tell me what is monster play in LOTRO? What is it for? Does game gets better later? Are there epic battles described in books (osgiliath battle, gate battle, helms deep battle) ? What is good and interesting character and race to play with? I would like to point here that I ussualy enjoy playing spellcasters (offensive) or minion controlers.
thanks for your help.
P.S. anyone played Tabula rasa? does it has some qualitty?

as dapper said there is no mage, what mp (monster play) is there for?... hmm fun. trying something out of the ordinary i guess you don't compete vs the same class as your self since monsters have other and less spells/abilities than the rpg players... mp is also only in one area.. which mean you can't go rampage vs low lvls.
Lotro will get better in time.. the new expansion will be out at fall. which gives another area bigger or just as big as the current eriador and introducing 2 new classes, every year there will be an paid expansion, which mean you will eventually be able to somehow participate in helm's deed , osgiliath and other ''big battles'' aswell.
race is doesn't matter.. you choose the one you like and that's it... every race has it's own benefits and misses.
in time i think loremasters will get better skils for dmg but they will never work the way they do in wow or other games with the regular mage class... loremasters are debuffers like burglars.. neither of them are dps and 50% of either of those classes don't know what they are doing.. i have a lvl 50 burglar.. i would say i do my job in raids.. im not dps.. my debuffs are more powerful because i have chosen to play my character that way. which affects my solo skills a bit...
hope you can find any usefull things of my wierd explanation of the game :)
Another one of those that THINKS they know Tolkien and the story of Lord of the Rings, yet never read the book. I suppose they got all the story from a movie? The same move the left out whole chapters, characters, and themes of the book.
Played LOTRO and it wasnt an impressive MMO.
Nice graphics and decent ideas but it fell shallow in many areas. As i looked the same as every class at any given level and felt as i had not progressed at all in the game.
Mindlesss quests instances got annoying also.
I would suggest you an MMO but at this point there are none that are as great as the oldschool MMOs like EQ.
They are mostly all WoW clones to appeal to masses to make $$$
It wants us to use spellcheck before posting inane drivel, yes it does!
Perhaps giving the game more time than an astonishing 48 hours could help.
