First Fishing Contest

Posted by kabal.yero Thursday July 3 2008 at 6:54PM

inally, I received the photos from the very first Fishing Contest held at my place. If you remember, I blogged about 7Seas Fishing Game system a few days ago and I even setup my own 7Seas Fishing Area which is located at the dock.

First Fishing Contest

On June 30, 2008, I decided to have a Fishing Contest and give away 500L$ to the winner. The contest format was Unbaited so that even casual players can join in and it ran for three hours. I think at least 8 people showed up and joined the contest.

Arena Wars (Episode 1)

Posted by kabal.yero Wednesday July 2 2008 at 9:45PM

Yesterday, I spent my free time at Sparta watching the fight against the Minotaur. I also took some clips of the fight for my new Second Life show, Arena Wars. The idea for the show came to me while I was paging through the many group notices that I receive everyday and are sent to my e-mail from The Roman Empire, The Spartan Empire, Samurai Japan, Egyptian Empire and Medevil England which are all under RPG Empires.

Minotaur versus Everyone

Most of the notices contain announcements about fights and tournaments on that particular empire or sim. With so many fights and tournaments happening around the sims of RPG Empires, I asked myself, why not build a Second Life show around it? From there, Arena Wars was born. (Typo on the Graphic, LOL!) Building A Home In Second Life

Posted by kabal.yero Monday June 30 2008 at 7:35AM

When I first tried Second Life, I didn’t quite get it and left it the same day but the second time I tried it I finally did maybe because I was better informed and got the chance to learn more about it. As I explore this virtual world I learned a lot about it and have met a lot of people who actually live their lives and spend most of their time in it, a Second Life.

Kabalyero Kidd Castle
(My Home in Second Life, Kabalyero Kidd’s Castle)

One of the more interesting thing I learned about Second Life is the ability to create your own virtual home. The idea of a virtual home got me interested although I really don’t see the point of having one because you won’t really be living in it. Anyway, one of the most important ingredient in building a home in Second Life is land. Just like in the real world, without land we can’t build anything.

Now, there are two ways of getting land. The first one is buy it from Linden Labs which requires a premium account and the second one is rent it from other land owners or estate owners. Of course, being a non-premium account user, my only choice was to rent it and that I did. I rented a small piece of mainland from another resident named Richard Palace whose main business in Second Life is land development.

The Relic Wars

Posted by kabal.yero Friday June 27 2008 at 6:22AM

The regions under RPG Empires will be featuring a new Role Play/Combat event called The Relic Wars and it will be participated in by The Roman Empire, The Spartan Empire, The Egyptian Empire and Nordhaven.

The Relic Wars

The Relic Wars is a series of battles between participating regions to control or capture the relics owned by the other regions. If you are familiar with most FPS games then you’ll notice that it’s like playing Capture The Flag but instead of a flag you’ll get to capture a relic. Below are the Rules of the game. Capped @ Level 100

Posted by kabal.yero Monday June 23 2008 at 2:44AM

e-Games Philippines capped the level limit of Cabal Online Philippines to 100 and capped the skills limit to G. Master. A few days ago, I finally reached that limit. My main character is now level 100 with G. Master Sword Skills and a Master in Magic.

Kabalyero @ Level 100
(Weak and Noob! So, please be kind to him!)

It was not an easy task to reach the level cap specially when I’m not using any of those so called Premium Items. If I were then I would have reached the level cap quicker. In fact, our Guild Leader, FzEjhay reached the level cap in less than 24 hours by using Premium Services/Items after the level cap was increased. Whew! Now that’s what I call dedication! LOL!

Just a little info on my character. My character is a Warrior and it’s basically built for PvE (player versus environment) since I do everything SOLO. What about PVP? Nah, my hand and eye coordination is not that good anymore. I can’t even beat my kids in Tekken anymore. Ahh, the perils of aging. LOL!

Learn How To Fight @ Samurai Japan

Posted by kabal.yero Sunday June 22 2008 at 10:02AM

Recently, I’ve received a lot of group notices from Samurai Japan about classes and trainings on fighting. Samurai Japan is a Role Play/Combat Sim in Second Life which is also part of mikeD Streeter’s RPG Empires which is a group of sims dedicated to role play and combat.

Samurai Japan

The classes covers the basics of DCS (Dynamic Combat System) fighting, team or group fighting and using powers. The classes are held every Monday and Thursday at 8:00pm SLT (Second Life Time). [...continue reading Learn How To Fight @ Samurai Japan]

Stuck At Fort Ruina

Posted by kabal.yero Friday June 20 2008 at 1:13AM

Fort Ruina is a location in Nevareth which can only be accessed by characters who are level 65 and up. To get into Fort Ruina you must use the Warp Center located at Port Lux.

A lot of players train their characters in Fort Ruina and during my training there I’ve seen a few characters who seem to got themselves stuck just below the stairs leading to the Core Alchemist. It’s weird because I’ve ran up and down that stairs a hundred times but I’ve never got my character stuck there.

It’s as if no human were controlling these characters because if there was a human behind those characters then they would immediately fix it. Besides, a human player would never get stuck there that long.

I was able to get a video of some of these “stuck” characters in Fort Ruina. A common thing that you’ll notice about them is that they seem to get stuck at the same spot which is just below the stairs leading to the Core Alchemist NPC.

Fatality Guild

Posted by kabal.yero Friday June 20 2008 at 1:05AM

When I started playing Cabal Online, I never intended to join any guild. I think I denied a few invites before accepting the invite from the GL (Guild Leader) of Fatality Guild, FzEjhay. I don’t know who FzEjhay was and I have no idea what the guild was about but I accepted his invite because he was polite enough to approach me and ask me if I would like to join Fatality.

Fatality

The Guild Leader of Fatality showed that he has great character which is very much lacking in today’s online gamers. None of the other players who invited me to join their guild did that. All I got from them was the guild invite message which I eventually declined. [...continue reading Fatality Guild]

Spaceport Alpha, A Quick Visit

Posted by kabal.yero Tuesday June 17 2008 at 6:44AM

I got an e-mail from a volunteer with the International Spaceflight Museum in Second Life. It’s about their Sims Anniversary Celebration. The Sims are Spaceport Alpha and Spaceport Bravo and they’ll be celebrating the anniversary of the two sims on June 14, 2008 which was already a week ago.

International Spaceflight Museum

Unfortunately, I was not checking my e-mails that often during that week so I was not able to announce it here. I’m terribly sorry for that.
