When I first tried Second Life, I didn’t quite get it and left it the same day but the second time I tried it I finally did maybe because I was better informed and got the chance to learn more about it. As I explore this virtual world I learned a lot about it and have met a lot of people who actually live their lives and spend most of their time in it, a Second Life.

One of the more interesting thing I learned about Second Life is the ability to create your own virtual home. The idea of a virtual home got me interested although I really don’t see the point of having one because you won’t really be living in it. Anyway, one of the most important ingredient in building a home in Second Life is land. Just like in the real world, without land we can’t build anything.
Now, there are two ways of getting land. The first one is buy it from Linden Labs which requires a premium account and the second one is rent it from other land owners or estate owners. Of course, being a non-premium account user, my only choice was to rent it and that I did. I rented a small piece of mainland from another resident named Richard Palace whose main business in Second Life is land development.
