is there any? or is it non-exsistent? sorry this is prolly a much asked question but the search didnt help, and ive allready read quite a bit about eq2 im thinking about picking it up together with my Gf, would be wise to non start there right? but start on pve? |

There is full PvP servers with side faction and all. and combat system, titles, weapons to PvP
On PvE servers you can dual people, and go to the Arena (in the major towns) to have grp arena PvP fights.. |

I'm pretty new to the game myself but from what I can tell - PvP on PvE
servers is non-existant except for occasional duels. You can fight in
arenas released in DoF but they are very unpopular. The downside to PvP
on the PvP servers is that a rather high amount of people exp lock
their characters around levels 22-36. These people get all the uber
equipment via twinks and will wipe the floor with any new characters.
It also messes up the economy in the sense that prices for items level
20-50 are a lot closer together than what you'll find on a PvE server.
On the other hand, I find it easier to find pickup groups on my PvP server (Nagafen) than my PvE server (Unrest) because of the necessity of groups to limit ganking. I also really enjoy the 1 in 10 fair fights I actually get. |

The only PvP on the PvE servers is a duel. This is where two players both agree to engage in combat 1vs1 with no risk "other than pride" or rewards. Their is also the arena. The arena is where you can fight with arena pets that you collect from questing and drops. You can win titles for your name, but again their is really no risk for fighting here. As for joining a PvE server instead of a PvP server to start? Well, thats really up to you. I have seen lots of players join the the PvP server and do really well their. But again, I have seen people join PvP and become frusterated and leave. If you can get past the lower LvLs in pvp, I personaly think the servers are much better than the PvE servers. It seems the economy is more stable, their is a larger community, most of the players are very helpful...etc. I reccomend that if you do join a PvP server you join a guild quick, and try not to get too frusterated at lower lvls...as you will die ALOT. I also reccomend before anyone ever joins a PvP server, they read this LINK to find out what they are getting them self into. If you do decide to join Nagafen PvP server and roll a Freeport charecter, look up Strums and I will be more than happy to help ya out on anything you need. Take care, and good luck! |

Very good point about the LvL locking. Howerer, I dissagree that the economy gets messed up because of this. It is so easy to make money on the Nagafen server. Im not sure if its because alot of people buy plat their or what, but I know i can harvest for a few hours and collect ? and make a few plat in a matter of hours. I know that not alot of people have time to harvest, but hell...if one of your normal nights you have to play or what ever instead of going out and LvLing you havrest 1 night a week, you can really make alot of money. Rares, raws, and ? items sell for alot of money on Nagafen. |

thanks for the explanations! We will most defenitly start on pve then, to get a hang of the game first, and move to pvp later on, there is too much to learn 1st :) Got a couple of questions in my order topic if anyone wants to take a look ;) |
