There are about 100,000 who signed up for the beta!
So, do you find it positive or negative?
Cause the chance to get a place in  the beta is very low, but right now
there are a lot of players, which is an advantage...

It is always a plus. Beta testing is work and can get tedious. If I don't get in somebody else will do the work they ask for me, which is perfectly find with me.

I got a 8800GTX video card capable of DX10 and since they are going to be making the game in that light.. I am hoping it will help me get in.

I've been waiting for AOC since it was announced. Of course I'm signed up for the beta. One thing though... Years ago when I first started beta testing games, people wanted to be part of the dev process and see that the game was really polished when it came out. However, more and more beta testing is just a euphimism for "play for free". I hope those that get in actually do the work of a beta tester and don't just play for fun.

I think the developer team chooses only those, who are willing to polish the game...
Thats why they made the Beta sign in so detailed

In Life You Have To Look Out For Number 1 Just Dont Step Into Number 2

I think if you already pre-ordered the game you should automaticly  get to be in the beta testing or have a better chance to be involved in the beta testing but you can not cancel your order. That's my opinion.

I signed up for beta back in September, still no luck as of yet. I just hope my spam filter didn't eat anything.

I was hoping the new rig I had just built and my MMO background would help, guess not.

I'm also waiting for a Betakey but I've given up hope already. I think they have all the testers they need. Plus I'm also devided about whether to participate in the CB/OB (if invited) since Beta experiences could ruin the game for me. I wouldn't like that since pre-ordered the CE-edition and paid 100% in advance. But my guess would be that as soon as I get a key I'll be dancing on a table and going to start testing as soon as the game is installed.

What if it is? But still not? Is it still the same as it were before? Perhaps it is.

Signed for the beta for a very long time ago when windows 98 was modern, hehe, or not, but I can say if you sign today there's about one in a trillion chance that you might get a chance to test the beta. Most people that signed after me got betas so I'm a bit puzzled how they select applications. Appearently they won't accept people that played EQ and WoW.

Apparently Open Beta, which starts tomorrow, is only given out to paying fileplanet.com members. If there are still keys available, you can sign up to be a fileplanet member and then follow the link on the website to get your key and download the client. I think there are still keys available, but I think today is the last day they will be giving them out.

Don't expect any other beta offerings.
