The fantasy MMO Archlord is being featured in a Belgian film about a man with autism who is teased and mistreated by his peers because of his autism, and who find solace in the world of Archlord where he is a hero. Belgian website Telenet Games report that members of their website staff played roles in the parts of a movie BenX shot inside of the Codemasters' MMO ArchLord. the game archlord is but a small part of the movie, it's mostly based on the autistic boy, still it's something nice that they're trying to do, not some Uwe Boll crap....
Also the director made a play about a boy that played Divine Divinity an RPG, was also quite good regarding the story and the influence of the game. the film will be out in belgian cinema in October 2007, but don't think it will go International, maybe the Netherlands since it's the same language but the rest i don't think so. |

And this will help Archlord how? We can't even agree as a whole that Belgium is anything more than a fairy-tale as it is. But, I guess a hundred Belgian film watchers playing their game than noone at all is a bonus to the devs pockets. |

Another round where someone gives autism a bad name.... The ability to comprehend teasing as an autistic kid isn't really something worth talking about as it's mostly not even there... And now they're making a movie about it, just as if autistic kids generally understand and suffer from teasing and being mistreated by other kids? I'll take my diagnosis and sit in this corner over here until they're done... Christ.. |
