Back in the pre-CU day I was a hardcore crafter.  I did however have a secondary  account that was a smuggler and hacked all the stuff I crafted to make it better and sell for more.  My question is how viable is crafting now AND is there anything like hacking that I can do to manipulate items to make them better?

If not, what would you recommend for someone who prefers to avoid combat?

I will always miss pre-CU but I still enjoy the game.

Crafting is getting a lot of action these days with the Reverse Engineering to make better items as well as all the parts needed for Beast Mastery stuff.

Here is the basics to RE

RIP: pre-CU & pre-NGE

When the OP says "hacking," I believe he's referring to the old skill of "slicing."

I don't currently play, but I don't think that specific skill can be employed anymore.
