live is like a box of.....

Okay all i want is a Healer support class that runs in the thick of mellee and has good Armor.

All i found uptill now was the Empire healing class which looks more like a buff class then a healing class (Paladin like)

Too weird to live, and too rare to die

The Empire Warrior Priest, which you already know about, best matches your requirements based on the information we have been given - decent armor, melees, and heals. It is most like a Paladin in other games, from what I have seen, and I do not know why you think that Paladins buff and do not heal, since most games have them as healers, too.

Chaos Zealots seem to get quite in the thick of battles from videos I watched, but not much is mentioned of their healing abilities, and they basically wear robes - hardly armoured. The newly announced Dark Elf Disciple of Khaine is a healer who is also supposedly good at melee, but looks relatively lightly armoured. They seem to need to do damage to heal, since their gimmick is draining the blood of their foes to help their allies.

Anyway, it seems the best two choices are the Warrior Priest and Disciple of Khaine.

Well, if the trend follows through...all the "healer" types have an active combat gimmick that they need to do in order to be an effective healer. Realy i don't know enough at this point, but it seems(going by the descriptions he have atleast):

  • Warrior Priest will be charging in to Melee in order to "beef up" his healing and/or buffing.
  • The Goblin Shaman will be nuking people to build up "Waaagh!" for his more powerful heals and nukes.
  • The Zealot will be running around activly placing debuffing harbringers on his enemies and buffing/healing symbols on his buddies. More Harbringers = more healing most likely.
  • The Archmage Will be Nuking people to power his heals. Sounding very much like the goblin shaman.
  • The Disciple will be meleeing and "cursing" his enemies with DoT's, taps, and other such things to heal (at all?).
  • The Runepriest seems to be the most straight forward healer of the healers; however, he needs to spend his time applying runes to people before they need the healing. I'm uncertain what the runepriest "power up" mechanic is or what effect it can have on thier healing effectivness.

I like the way the zealot playstyle sounds myself, but i'm sure all of them will be great when release comes around
