After that, the devs need to up the work rate, the game needs to catch up to what people would expect from a year-old game (content-wise). Can they recover? My money would be on no, but I'd like to be proven wrong. |

Between two evils, I always pick the one I never tried before. |
To little to late. Almost got tempted to give it another go buy think I will wait for something else. Shame, if the game would have been in the same state it's now when it launched it would probably been a hit. |

VG is no better or no worse than almost 90% of the MMOs out there, Yes there is room for improvement, yes it would benefit from a free trail, yes it could do with quicker updates, more content etc, But it also has a lot going for it, best graphics in any MMO and interesting & unique classes, decent crafting, diplomacy, it is a lot more future proof than a lot of the MMOs out at the moment. I am sure there will be a free trail soon and hopefully this will bring the subs up. Even when AOE and WAR come out VG will still be able to hold its own as i beleive it is more of a tradtional MMO.

It takes a village to raise a child, but it takes a viking to raze a village! |
Originally posted by VultureSkull Depends on what you're talking about. Performance-wise, it is worse. Much worse. Gameplay-wise, it's pretty good. Maybe better than a lot of what's out there. Graphics-wise, it's as good as most other MMOs. It is not the best IMO. LOTRO beats it hands down for beautiful graphics. (I was also annoyed by the lack of good variety of armor in the game. There isn't much variety unless you count different colors on the same basic armor pieces. Of course, that's not unusual in many MMOs). |

Originally posted by rascalcmos I dont think so. Most people who bought it were looking for a game that did more than what was already out there. Vangaurd isnt that game, but the promises were huge. Sure it might have held more subscribers for a bit longer but I dont think the population would have been significantly larger. Maybe if it had shipped like this and they had kept a sizable dev team to add in the innovations they were talking about over the next year. |

Originally posted by Deathstrike2You obiviously have not seen the graphics in Vanguard running on a decent PC. Performance wise it is fine, may i ask when was the last time you played VG? Cos your ideas seems pretty old. |
