By contrast everquest 2 is a complete pig and I can't even run it on the highest settings.  For some reason I start getting directx rederer crashes.  But even on high the game uses upto 1.6gb in areas like Neriak.  This ultimately forced me to go from 2gb to 4gb since I'd start swapping and my framerates would get hitchy enough to make the game hard to play.  Even now it seems like there is some sort of video memory leak or something in eq2 since after several hours of play it I'll notice things like combat will drop to very low fps.  If I keep playing it will ultimately crash.

Yah EQ2 is like that.  It was years ahead of its time when it was developed, even now you cant play on max settings inside a city without crashing out from lag.

Years ahead of its time, because it was released to early and has core flaws because of it.

Ill give you it was released WAY to early to compete with the WOW release, but the game is a vast improvement to what it was when it was released.

Something must have happened to the gene pool lately...

Very funny thread...

Not playing, but i still have an active account and i patched and loged in a week ago. The game seems to come along. The weather is nice and they still fix things, which is a good thing i think.

Refuse to lose.

Vanguard was a game with great promise, i am not sure if this promise is unreachable now.

Pull the game out.

Recode it , add content

and

RE-RELEASE (this time in functional state)

There is nothing you can say that hasn''t been said...

I actually believe this game will survive at least one more year and maybe more as long as developers are still interested in it's upkeep.

Additionally, it wouldn't surprise if they release a new expansion sometime this year.

I cant tell you why but man are you in for a big surprize , take a good look at some of the combat footage for both of these borefests ,there not going to hurt vanguard or any game one bit

I trust Mythic to deliver a non-bug-riddled product.

I trust Funcom to also release a non-bug-riddled product.

Vanguard was released by nobodies, with one somebody hyping it.

Lets face it, MMOs today are turning into single player console games with a chat box included.

Have you forgotten about DnL? sorry to burst your trolling bubble, but thats got to be the biggest bust in MMO history.
