This is incredibly sad news to me. I do not really believe in having heroes but Gary Gygax was an exception. I definitely consider him a hero to me. His works had such a great impact on me growing up. I got the chance to correspond with him on a couple of different message boards. He was also very kind and a class act. You will be missed Gary.

aw hell i always wanted to play in one of his kobold campaigns. many thanx sir for creating Fantasy Role Playing and enabling me to spend countless hours exploring worlds of wonder. For me Gary Gygax is up there with Poe and Bradbury and Tolkien, one of a handful of people in history who fundamentally influenced global culture. ps: indeed, the spirit of Mr. G lives on thru each of us whenever we play a game. |
