I wouldn't mind ads if it was accutly you know along the lines, you know like doing ads for sword sellers or makers. You know things that would make sense. I mean i dont think coke or pepsi can do anything in the game, even tho it would be pretty funny. |

To Shannia : The answer to my question clearly demonstrates that there is zero evidence to substantiate your claim. In other words, the "now we know the real reason why Funcom delayed the game" is pure and utter nonsense. In reality, both you and us are not any wiser today that we were before this thread was made. You did not present an opinion. Or a hypothesis. You presented a fact. You attempted to back up this fact with evidence. The evidence are non existent. Case closed.
That been said, If the title of this thread was "Funcom may include adds in AoC in some form", I would had agreed with you that it would have been an extremely bad idea to do so in a subscription based game. However, that was neither the title, nor the intent of the thread. This thread is pointless. |

Doubt is a pain too lonely to know that faith is his brother. |
I have the same opinion about this thread as I do about the thread that was made about Funcom delaying the game because of simultaneous release of the Xbox360 version. Utter Nonsense.. |

Xasapis, With all do respect, the proof you seek was here on the forums for all to see. The mods decided that a screen shot of the AoC EULA was an NDA violation and removed said thread. It is not my fault that the proof you seek was removed from the site. When I first posted this thread, the proof was there. Some searching on the web and you can find the said proof for yourself. I'm not going to put links here to stuff I know they've already removed. Shannia |

I don't dispute that the entry in the EULA is there. Thus I do worry that EIDOS might push for advertising in a subscription game. In the same manner EA pushed for it in HG:L and might do the same in WAR. But you claimed that the online advertisement deal/ entry to EULA, was the reason behind the delay. You might be right. You might be wrong. But given the evidence you presented, noone can tell anything besides that there is an entry in the EULA that permits the use of online advertisement if they so wish at some point. You claimed that this entry and the deal behind it was the reason behind the delay. No evidence to back this claim were presented, that's all I'm saying. You may have a gut feeling and that's acceptable. But you presented it as facts, and that is not acceptable. |

I am sorry if I offended you. You are correct that it is my assumption. Going forward, I will be sure to make things more clear that it is my assumptions and opinions. The only way that my claims would be facts is if I worked for Funcom or EIDOS and knew for sure what was about to happen and that just isn't the case. Again, I apologize for confusing/misrepresenting the title of my thread as a fact rather then my opinion.

Hell was build for heroes. |
I don't think this has to do with the delay, the game wasn't ready and needed more work. Wich is better for us, the playerbase. |
