to people i ve spoken to in warcraft there is a feeling that a lot of players will leave for warhammer but return to warcraft after the release of the lich king . personally i m not sure this ll happen if warhammer ends up being a popular game . personally i proberbly will go back at some point after the lich kings out to level up to 80 . but i m not sure i ll rush back . whats the point . the game will be cheaper 6-9 months after its release and also blizzard make everything easier to obtain after a few months .so if i m enjoying warhammer (or conan) it may be quite a while before i return . variety is the spice of life after all . i dont think there will be a wow killer for a long time but i do think they are about to see a sharp decline in thier user base although i still think wow will remain a very succesful game .

what do you think ?

Tbh, i'm not planning on returning to WoW ever, they need to add new things to it instead of the same things over and over again. A new raid dugeon isn't a new thing, it's just more of the same that's already in the game.

In case WAR doesn't deliver "it" for me, i'm going to try out AoC, and if that doesn't stick either i'm just going to keep at it with my CoX game, my one true love so far.

I think you forget by the time the next expantion comes for wow there could be at least 4 if not 5 AAA+ titles out,You only mention WAR and AoC but you fail to mention AION and TCoS not to mention Stargate.

Do I think any of these are a "wow killer" lol no I dont, though it is a simple fact if a couple of these release as they should then they will do very well, dont forget mmo games were around for along time before wow,but wow did bring aloand I do mean ALOT of new mmo players to the table.

You dont need, what is it now 10 millon subs to make a good mmo like wow has,I good 300k is a nice result but today maybe a very good mmo will get 1million and how much hand rubbing will the devs and publisher do with that?

Dont be fooled by WOW's numbers, that wont happen again,or at least I think not.

The way i see it, WoW has become the CS 1.6 of the MMO-world. Alot of people will continue to play it for a long time, but there is still room for other games on the market. People have not stopped playing other FPS' but it is still CS 1.6 that dominates that market.

"I might look like a Footman, but I am Corporal inside!"

Before World of Warcraft please remember companies like Microsoft blew opportunities to advertise games that could have boomed the market like Ashteron's Call.

Fact of the matter is Blizzard simply capitalized on the opportunity and in return reaped the benefits. Is Microsoft hurting because they chose a different route? Absolutely not.

If a company develops an MMO with an edge following the principles of Role-Playing as people grew up on but make the systems more user friendly and unique then they very well could do the same thing. People who play WoW play WoW because they LIKE WOW. People will pay to play a game THEY LIKE.

Waiting for: Aion, WAR

People should stop supporting rehashing and the MMO's nowadays that have become a hamster-on-a-wheel.

Hit them where it hurts. Their pockets.

Hell no I won't ever return if WAR or AoC delivers.  I'm just getting way burned out on it and like someone else said nothing really new ever gets added to WoW.  Just more of the same.  Hell only reason I play now is to PvP and do arena with my brother and friends.

Forum Poll

Do you plan on leaving WoW for WAR or AoC?

No, I'll never leave WoW
Maybe, if those games look good
Yes, I'm burned out on WoW

I presume you are talking of new games copying WoW.  This always makes me laugh to be honest because Blizzard blatantly copied every other game out there with WoW and brought nothing that was new or innovative to the table.

I think that the WoW players that like PvP will migrate to WAR because the RvR in WAR will be a hell of a lot better than any PvP that WoW has to offer.  The players that like PvE however will most likely stay with WoW for the most part.  Will WAR be a WoW killer? no but it will take a big bite from Blizzards pie.

I play WoW for about 1-2 months a year, which gives me enough time to burn through the minimal content Blizzard adds that appeals to me (Raids and Arena are duds to me).

I'll likely try AoC and Warhammer, and if either can hold my attention for an extended time, I'll definitely leave WoW on the shelf. WotLK looks like a snoozefest to me, with nothing really new or exc
