"We''re not making a game for Trekkies" Daron Stinnett, Perpetual Entertainment

After all this time, guess what sells the most in his store by nearly a 11-1 margin...

No other console game, no other MMOG... nothing can get close to it.

World of Warcraft, it's battle chest, and game time cards.  Nothing touches WoW after these years in sales at his store.  Just sick.  Not even AoC or WAR pre-orders can beat out his instore sales of WoW items.  Simply insane.

Account was stolen!

Honey, let's get our son that world of warcraft game we saw on TV - maybe he can do it while studying for school.

Account has been stolen, why would someone want to steal my account?

I think the Sims or Sims 2 is actually the biggest selling PC game ever, they just spam expansions and the fools keep buying.

Anyway, WoW having massive sales as indicated by the OP only shows that far more people think it's shit than like it. The box sales are probably more than double the subscription figures.

Actually, the statement is correct. WoW and Sims are probably the only two major franchises that have penetrated the 'casual' and female player market share more so than any other title at present. Or let me put it this way: ask a woman at an office building if she has played WoW or Sims (1 or 2) and I promise you half the time the answer for either (or even both) will be: yes.

My ever so rich response was to the tone of his post, you know, casualy smirking. I don't see the corelation between that and women playing.

Social networking games always has a wide variety of people, it's the action oriented ones that seem to cater to guys, but the women whom I have played against are always rather exceptional.

WoW is a major success, even now in 2008 my local Gamestop still carries the updated Strategy guide to it, the one in the white binder and all.

Tone, lol whatever mate. I read recently that either The Sims or The Sims 2 had sold more copies worldwide than any other PC game, i just posted it to counter the OP's claims that WoW is the biggest seller.

From what I understand there are only 2.5 million WoW players in America according to Blizzards last report. So it will probably still sell very well there, theres a lot of people that have not tried it most likely and since it is talked about a lot it stands to reason it still sells well.

In England I am pretty sure it has peaked as all the copies I have seen are in the bargain bin for 5 quid. There is 2.2 million subscribers in Europe so it is not surprising that they do not sell that well anymore most people that are interested in it have tried it and the rest are playing it.
