Do we know anything about what roles boats will play? I just watched this video and I see ships sitting in what looks like a harbor perhaps. And then later in the video I see charcters pushing a small canoe out of the water. Will there be player built or operated boats at all?

Three answers: 1. There actually is player-boats 2. They are an NPC-run form of travel, like boats/zepps in WoW 3. They are just scenery. |

So player crafted boats? And I assume we can drive them right? What else do we know about these boats.

As of right now there are no crafted boats in the game, however I do recall a Dev Q&A where it was stated that it could be a possible addition in a future expansion. |

Considering the three "professions" of the original Conan were Thief, Pirate, and King I'd be quite miffed if they didn't expand into this option. Technical limits aside, player boats would be a huge addition to gameplay. |

in general, i love the idea of having boats. i played vanguard and was also very exited about that. however, it came to alternative ways of transport such as riftways (teleporters) and the boat- thing got killed with that. there are still boats, but there's no reason to use them. (remember, it costs a hell of money or work, to get one...) so just for the chill, i doubt it would be a nice feature. there has to be something to it - islands to reach only via boats or whatever... |
