"The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.”

If there's some sort of  "We advice you to play on this server" mechanism, never let it point to a Roleplaying server.

In addition bring up a pop up when selecting a Roleplaying server, that warns players that there are additional rules on this server and that it isn't a "normal" server. Give them a "Do you really want to play on a Roleplaying server? Yes/No" or "Do you accept the additional Roleplaying rules? Agree/Don't Agree" option.

Seriously, throw us roleplayers a bone

Greatest threat to society is letting casualties of puberty reproduce.

Couldn't agree more. Sick of being on RP servers and seeing people with names like Magicaltits,Ipwnyu and Childrpr. If these people violate rp policies they should be banned at least 30 days first offense.

Jesus Christ is Lord.

+1

However, the server would need extra attention given to it. Need the watchdogs to enforce it.

MMORPGs are great to look forward to after a hard day of work, but heaven is the ultimate reward for those who live Christ-like.

Me so hungry. Me go find food. Ugh.

I agree, but I think you should be able to select, like the selection made available in wow, to choose "Normal", "PvP", "PvP-RP", "RP" or any other style made available and THEN be asked to join a server, and that server should be the closest or the one with lowest possible latency.

Or simply a list catigorized in which style and you can choose the one where you want to play.

Also, adding friends on your account, not the character could be a possibly awesome feature as you could keep track on all friends whatever character you would be playing on at the very moment, and which server they're playing on. Of course that could be a little annoying if you'd make enemies and they'd stalk you, so it should be a two-way add-friend selection where both should accept the friend-invite. E.g Player1 ask to become friend with Player2, Player2 would then have to accept the invite to be added to the list.

Just my opinion :-)

SCIENCE PROVES CAPS LOCK CAN CURE CANCER.

I agree as well. Although I will probably never play on a RP server on this game, I would be a little aggravated too to see the things that people are saying if I wanted to play it for the reasons you guys are playing for.

But gladly you shouldn't worry too much about this; I think you guys are thinking too much in the retrospective of WoW's RP servers. One thing straight... 10 million players. Many more people to have to look over... it's like if you were a kindergarden teacher... would you rather teach a small room of 15 kids or the entire elementary school? AoC isn't even going to have a tenth of WoW's population so it will be much easier for AoC to monitor their servers and the player's inqueries. Not to mention, the two main selling points of this game are it's PvP and lore. Considering how much they are going into the lore aspect of their game (as obvious by the practically billions of times the devs mention it) they should be able to monitor much of what goes on.

So no need to fear, guys

if you expect more moderation, expect to pay more.  Or, you could just use the ignore function and not pay attention to those people.  You are using your imaginations already aren't you?

Damn that would be a nice option. Back in the days Mortemia was pretty hardcore roleplayer during his NwN era of RPGs. *spits and farts simultaneously* Theres roleplaying in it's purest form.
