Not sure what closed beta you guys are playing, but there's still TONS of crashes and FPS issues this close to release -- that is, I know this solely from my first 13 levels in closed beta (lol!).

If Funcom can actually iron all the crashes and memory leaks for good, then the client will not be too bad at all. However, each patching seems to create new client based issues, so I'm not sure how much hope there is for a very stable client. At least it's not a Vanguard beta client?

I'm not sure what you are running the game on but in closed beta I've crashed about 5 times in the last few months. I've had almost no issues and seen very few bugs since the last patch. It is kind of funny how everyone is dooming this game because it doesn't work good for them, when in reality it has a lot to do with your hardware and it working with the games software correctly. Things like this take a lot of time to iron out and polish to a point where any and all crashes or slowdowns in the game are minimal.

It's almost embarassing to listen to some of you people whine and complain about something you don't even understand. I suppose I would too though if I knew nothing about computers and how they work.

It's almost embarrassing for me to assume you know what you're talking about. Have you ever checked the forums? There are many reports of frequent crashing and disconnects with rubberbanding. Already new memory leaks are occuring causing major crashes for a lot of people. Client/computer freezing is also frequent.

Just because a few people have stable clients doesn't mean everyone does. It's the responsibility of the developer to make a game stable for all systems.

Personally, I have a great rig; very high end. So you can't be so entirely beligerant in stating it's whining. Current and continuing client issues are a fact, not just the fault of random people.

Try using your brain next time before you judge someone's posting, it's really not as hard as it sounds.

Edit: Oh for the record my rig is also very standard and common: Vista 64, 8800GTS 512 (SLI), 4 gigs, 2.4ghz quad core.

Sorry, but you're in the minority. I know you don't want to admit the fact that not everyone feels and judges everything the exact same way such as yourself. Being so closed minded against an mmo you've barely played is something you are more then welcome to do, just don't try to pretend you know how this game works for everyone else. I've heard from a lot more people that i've talked to in game and on the forums say they've had very little to no issues. and it was said already Open beta is definitely not as stable as the CB client the real testers play on.

Well unless it s a complete 180 it will still be very unstable.

What are talking about? You just sound confused in trying to attack me. I'm stating pure facts that the client isn't as stable as some people are claiming, which is to clarify for some people who are uncertain. (Apparently it's also become fact as well that you're unintelligent enough to try and attack a poster rather than back up what you claim, it's pathetic and sad).

The CLOSED beta client continues to have issues, I never said they are common to everyone, I said there's issues that effect people, including myself. There's lots of posts on this in the CB forums, you must not be using your glasses. Today a new client issue arose as well that they are trying to address.

I recommend you stop trying to attack me, and attack my posts. However, you apparently cannot so you resort to sad childish tactics as you did in your previous post. There are issues with the client still needing to be resolved, that's fact. Does it effect everyone? No, of course not. But the point was to state there are issues, and it's not where it needs to be yet. I also stated I hope they do resolve it, so I'm not attacking Funcom, I was simply clarifying.

Now get off your imaginary soap box and stop resorting to pathetic tactics.

You mean the closed beta that was down today, because of bugs causing crashes in Tortage? People can say this all they want, but I'm not ponying up money on what a handful of closed beta testers say.   Especially when those closed beta testers say they can run the game at insanely high resolutions with a 2 ghz processor, and the fact that I can't with a better processor is because I don't know how to run my computer.

I mean really, for game breaking bugs to be found in the starter area, that doesn't give me much hope about the whole rest of the game/world.

A lot of closed beta testers are just fanbois trying to hype up the game and ignore the issues.

Personally, I've come to really enjoy my playing, however I'm not deluded or confused enough to state the game is running entirely smoothly yet. I get some fool stating I'm in the minority, which may be true, but at least I have the brain to speak the truth.

Don't talk about stuff you don't know anything about.

CB was patched to a specific build today to test out something specific. that particular build had a memory assertion issue that we'd never seen before.

Servers went down because the test was finished, and will be back up in a couple hours with yet another build, probably designed to test somethng else entirely.

Overall the CB versions I've tested in the last couple weeks have been VERY stable, even on my poor old over-clocked hardware.

Well you should never base an opinion off of what other people say, there are closed beta people here saying that the game is great. I tried it, didn't like it so now I'm going to move on.

Last thought before slipping back into lurk mode - I really hope you guys have a good time playing AoC, and that the launch goes smoothly and all that. The devs obviously have put a lot of effort into making the game and I applaud them for trying a new way of doing things, I'm sure a ton of people will love the combat system. Good luck and have fun, that is the main reason we play games after all.
