Fanbois vs Hater statements

1) Its ok to like a game after 13 levels, but its not ok to criticize it

2) its an open beta, then its a beta, then its a stress test

3) Some people love it, some hate it

4) some people (usually fanbois) have great performance, some have terrible (the haters)

5) There's a miracle patch/build, there isn't

6) the game opens up after level XX, the game is linear as crap

7) the game doesn't become fun till lvl xx, the game is the same after lvl xx

and you wonder why people like me, who are on the fence, think both sides can't construct a neutral statement if their life depended on it, while looking for a reason to buy it

I approve of this post.. I hate the extremists. It seems we live in a world of extremists now. Gaming extremists. Religious extremists. Political extremists. Its like people started min/maxing their opinions instead of their avatars.

Its so hard to find a balanced post anymore because theres always somebody trying to squelch someone else.

Is there no room left for the 'everything in moderation' folks?

Its really out of hand.

I have to admit, sometimes I secretly find all the drama amusing.  Sorry!  I might as well get everything out in the open.  I also watch reality TV.   There.

It's very, very hard to find a balanced thread. You hit the nail right on the head dude.

I am not a fanboy, but I am enjoying the OB with great performance. If you like it, great, if not, fine. I am not interested in Warhammer or AIon or CSB, so I don't even look at their forums. I wish others would do the same, I agree.

Well internet forums always attract loads of negativity. I like the fact that there is as much fanboism as negatromism on these boards. I actually like reading "original" or "witty" fanboi-negatron posts, but detest repetitive, badly written and humourless ones.

I do find mmo tribalism hilarious and absurd though. Such childishness. Those folks are mentally ill and I am just glad that we have mmo's to soak up their lunacy so that I don't have to deal with such mongloids when I am shopping or using public transport.

I will play AOC and Warhammer this year. I like to sub to two games so I don't burn out on one or the other. If one sucks then I will choose an alternative new release. Maybe that's why I don't feel the negatron and fanboi hysteria that you see on some of these posts.  I have plenty alternatives and the investment of time/money trying these games is incredibly low compared to most other hobbies/pastimes. Hell if the entire mmo market had NOTHING to offer, then there is always console gaming with GTA IV, Biohazard 5, FMGS 4 etc.

Finally, I am not looking for the wow-killer or something that is going to be out-of-this-world. There is no Holy Grail, just other mmos whose abliltiy to innovate will always be curtailed by the standard (i.e. successful) genre conventions of mmos and the need to be popular in the existing market.

honestly i give up.

I ask a question trying to resolve some technical questions or concerns...rabid fanbois attack me with a hater remark, and the same logic they use to counter negative threads are apparantly OK long as your blind to everything else.

Least they helped me make a decision NOT to buy this game at launch. Community itself, on these forums, official forums, along with the general chat in game proved this to me enough.

Essentially you don't understand it because you don't respect anybodies opinion.  Thats what its really all about on mmorpgs forums.  If somebodies opinion is differant than yours then they must be a fanboi or a hater. 

Really what do you expect somebody to say that can't get the game to run correctly?  I mean really.  If you bought any other product drill, car, widget and it was broken, defective, or not what you expected you can't really be objectionable about it.

when you buy a product (or pay $5 or whatever for it) you expect a working product or at least some tech side help. Both of which apparantly dont exist for me.

If you bought a car, and its engine would stall out every 30mins of driving....would you not bring it to get repaired? since you want to use analogous terms. And how are my technical problems related to anothers persons opinions? Technical problems are not objective, but subjective (or vice versa...cant think...must go to bed lol )
