Dark Ages

Any Deoch 1 aisling reading this forum ?

i had tried to play again but they banned me and wouldnt reinstate my account so i had to start over and i didnt enjoy it like in the begining. but i am from deoch 6. its been a while now though. i quit after they added the new continents and shit. they were supposed to have made the sub-classes soon.

Deoch 9 through Deoch 52 here.

I quit the game after being Knighted.  There was just nothing left worth doing in the game after that.
It is funny though, people still talk about me in-game and on their little elitist scumbag run forums.

And I'm sure there'll be some immature little kid here soon, flaming about me, how they think I was so corrupt, how they think I was evil, and all that other nonsense.  That's funny too, because if I was so bad, why was I never banished, exiled, sgathed, barred from politics, or even banned from the game entirely?  Apparently I wasn't what anyone claimed.  Fact was, people called it "corrupt" when they don't get their way, especially when I used to bust their asses for doing stuff that was against the player-made laws in the game.  That's just how it goes.  If people weren't doing stuff they had to have known was unacceptable, they never would have had any trouble with the law and my character.

I haven't played the game in about 4 years now ... as far as they know. 

Ginger here. Trying to recall why there's this bad taste in my mouth in regards to what you stirred up politically.

Ahhhhh! Ginger!  The Sgrios summoner that I saved from her own Succubus in Abel.  LOL

Nah, I never really followed along with Hollie.  In reality, I never even really saw her around.  I do remember Kob and Hollie were reportedly hooked up at one time though.  That was back around the time Kob was running around Astrid and East Woods murdering people with Mentor and by dragging the higher level mobs into the lower level areas.  LOL  (I actually missed the guy when he went to jail in real life.)

Nice to see the DA community is still intact. I still chat with people like Angelic, Bentic, Faerun, Dartanian, Etienne and many many others. Yeah Deoch 1 is the closed beta phase of the game .. when was that.. back in 1998-1999 and when Dave Kennerly was the game director. I think I remember Ginger... I play a monk named Brightblade the original one before I gave my account away when I got bored. I heard the guy I gave my account to was an ass.

Well the player run politic system was an experiment (and an interesting one esp when studying game emulation and online community) and just like in real life it can be as corrupt as the ones in real life (which is subjective to the view of the general populace).

I was Deoch 10, give or take. It was rumored that we should be nice to Ginger cause she was like 8 at the time. Whatever the case, I think she trained some mobs on me on my first day. =p

Politics was fun when you exiled someone and got 100 whispers ^^

Hah, just out of curiosity I googled Dark Ages and stumbled across some old time players.  Dark Ages was my first, and only foray into MMORPG's... well apart from a little Guild Wars, but thats different.  I didn't really know anything about the MMO genre but I was enamored by its SNES like graphics and the fact that you played with other people online.  Looking back I can realize how bad it was, but the game did have it's charm and there's certain aspects I wish other MMORPG's had. 

I started in Deoch 8, Hanzeus was my character, and stuck around till Deoch 20 something.  Those summoning fiasco's were always fun, though being a Gliocan/good guy/warrior I was in the 'save the day' crowd.  I actually wanted to play some more at some point but my account got purged.  Don't think I'd be too fond of the newer community though
