WAR (Warhammer Online)

Well if you want to call a RvR game that is putting everything together and improving it another WoW game then yes it is.  It is doing what WoW did to raiding.  WoW made raiding and mmos a "causual" thing.  

What do i mean by its doing the same thing?  Well its putting all the good ideas into one game, and improving them.  Is this not what made WoW so great? (to some not I)  So to all that says LoL OMFGBBQ another WoW clone, ill be happy if this is yet a "WoW" clone because then it should be another 10mil subscriber hit.

Yet...  The only true cloning going on is that its an mmo with class' with levels' skills' orcs and what not and the fact that they are taking their time and putting all the good about RvR and some good about PvE into one game.  And thats all WoW ever did.

Yeah dude this game will be awesome, I mean who wouldn't love World of Warcraft battlegrounds, all the time, with none of the other World of Warcraft content, in one nice warhammer titled game?

AoC got me really excited recently... as... well its new and different. Combat is different, different pvp system, real property in game to fight over so conflict has an incentive.

WAR will be popular among those that like wow and wow type gameplay... but for folks who loved DAOC... WAR isnt really what they are expecting sadly. Granted there are many months for them to tweak and change, but thats a pretty big design change from what I have seen.

I love the hypcrosisy of AoC fans..they cry for new new new..yet their playing AoC which only offers better graphics, spellweaving and an arrow combat system....all its Game Play Mechanis come from EQ1, WoW, ShadowBane, & SWG pre NGE....funny it took all the mechanics that made those games unpopular & some popular features and updated them with a tiny bit of spit letting their fanbois claim 'new'.    Whats even funnier is they get pissed off when WAR fans point this out on their boards, the general boards, or even these boards but seem to have no problem coming here to obvious noob to MMORPG.com threads and posting BS.

You know atleast deeply research parts of WAR before speaking...I'm not saying its so uber new elite awsome but it has alot of features that make it stand out and away from WoW.  The few things it took from WoW are the standard things that exist between all MMOs that have PvE.  

Things it didn't take that make it vastly different....Living Cities, Living Guilds (the Banner System most definitly awsome), PQ system, an End Game that isn't based on horrible grindy PvE Kaplanesqe Raids (if you dont know what that means you should read up on Kaplan from EQ1..he invented the hell that is raids..left and went to WoW and gave them raids too).   Hidden Boss Mobs, Hidden public Dungeons (Lairs), ...should I go on?

If you only scratch the surface then every single MMO is a clone. 

WAR is NOT WoW ..its not a WoW clone...The clone Term is just a pissed off elistist term invented by people from EQ1 who were pissed off when WoW came out and called WoW an EQ1 clone.  Its completely retarded to let this term continue.

You like AoC awsome..go play AoC...you like WAR awsome go play it..but don't ruin it for other people it just makes you look like a complete douche when you speak nonsense.

I just wanted people to read what i had to say by the topic statement being "WoW clone" cuz everyone flocks to that.

they could but if you ask AoC people about their game...and I was geniunely interested in the game the first few times I asked a long time ago in a galaxy far far away..I got yelled at and told "graphics and combat' ... honestly thats not enough to get me to play a game for more than 30 days.

op I was replying to Pyro...and honestly I had no clue what you were babbling about...the fact you bothered to make this thread actually kinda peeves me off because its Pointless and there's already like X billion threads on this subject and they all result in flame wars since the AoC fans can't resist flocking to this stupid topic and acting superior.

I really hope AoC turns out great for those people...so that they'll leave us in peace to discuss our game.

Unlike all you fools that have loyalty to two games that arent even released yet, I will enjoy both WAR and AoC.

Okay AoC is just gonna be a key masher? And?

Both look great to me in their art style/visuals and both are gonna offer new ideas.

Im not 100% up on either although I am in the Conan beta, but the main thing that stood out in war to me was the community quests, where people actually you know work together and the rewards are spread to many people.

I believe both games also are gonna have avatars take up actual space (no going through people) which opens up new tactical strategies.

It looked more like a shiney new DAoC to me nothing like WoW lucky I want a shiney new DAoC
