An uneducated argument by someone who probably hasn't set foot in the game and is relying on screenshots to form his opinion and if you have set foot in game grats on your Level 13 character. Not worth my time, goodnight.

So it isn't different then.

Good night, thanks for your time. And I'm level 11.

Whats wrong with the 3 trees per class, i am sorry but i miss your point?

From your statement "Are they even trying?" i am concluding that you think that this is a bit inadequate?

And yet you fail to explain why it not good enough or suggest an alternative.

This game is for Mature players, so if you are old enough then please put up a better arguement and explain what it wrong!

Because its exactly the same, and although its a tryed and tested formula, it does nothing to improve upon its inspiration as all the previous adapters have.

Because I don't see it as any different.

And judging by your replies, neither do you.

No its not different.

FYI your char can either be male or female, you can either be a rogue, soilder, mage or priest, you have to gain xp before you level up by killing stuff and from quest rewards.

Point being, that some things are new and some things are not, the talent tree has been done by other games before and will no doubt be used again by other games, it works well, as someone said it ant broke.

AoC does a lot of new things and some old things, it is what it is.

Yes it has not improved on previous incarnations, but to be honest AoC does a lot of new things that i personally don't really mind about the talent tree.

It is 100 times better than what is in Vanguard so i am at least happy about that.

Instead of looking at the out lay of the talents (in a tree form) look at what spells, feats and ablilities they actually contain , for example i read where the Conqueror has an ability that rezz's his dead group memebers when he does more & more damage. See below.

So its not as if they copied the actuall skills/feats but just the way it is presented to you.

""To give an example on one of the cooler Aura buffs I can talk a bit about “Furious Inspiration”. For the Conqueror, as this buff increases, he starts to get a proc that triggers a team heal, which in turn increases in power the higher his Furious Inspiration is. If let go to its highest level, his Furious Inspiration not only has a chance of proccing team heals with each attack, but also has a small chance to proc a team rezz each attack. This means that if you ignore a Conqueror they start to become REALLY troublesome. *smiles* ""

Posted earlier in the thread :) But I know what youre saying. And yes, I enjoy the beta, its plays fine for me.

But character development is a big issue for alot of people, and its #1 for me. I play to progress my character. And when I hit level 10, and saw the same exact thing as what I played years ago.. I was extremely turned off. And barely made it to level 11.

I had the same feeling when playing Vanguard, even worse maybe. As my rogue turned out exactly the same as every other rogue on the server!!! and it is still like that noW!

But there are only so many ways that they can present this info (talents) to you.  I can understand your possible dissappiontmet with seeing a similar interface when expecting innovation.

EQ2 has racial skills as well as talents but the presentation is more or less the same.

User Interfaces are one of the toughest areas for innovation, and tbh i doubt much time was spent on this by funcom, there was no need in reinventing it,

Same as the your main skills bar, it is the same in all these fantasy MMOs. The difference comes in what is contained in them and with Aoc there is for the first time actually something different, ie the direction attacks.

I could go further and say things like the "windows" you view on your PC havent changed inthe last 10 years, as there is simply nothing better then this sort of interface.

I am not saying that talent trees are the best way, but they are good way.
