General Discussion

There is ALOT more each game has to offer.  Each game offers alot. BUT each game offers alot for diffrent types of players. There is no reason to keep these flamefests going for BOTH sides. I get tired of seeing uninformed, idiotic posts against WAR and I am willing to bet thoes of you that love AoC are getting tired of the same.

Most of us here are MMO vets. As MMO vets arent we tired of getting the same cookie cutter MMO's? Neither WAR or AoC are going out on a huge limb on innovation but each is offering things here and there that are new. As an MMO fan/vet I want both to have success. The more developers are willing to try something new the better for us. If you listne to both sides, both AoC and WAR are going to fail horribly. Guess what that leaves us with. More cookie cutter MMO's.

The fighting really needs to stop. This is my last post on MMORPG untill it does. Its unfortunate that these forums have gotten so negative. Yes any hyped game brings flames. Its going to happen. Unfortunatly with these two games, instead of the verry few trolls we usually have poking there heads out, people who usually post smart, informed, well thought out posts have diminished greatly and they have turned into the troll/hate posters that they despised. A couple on each side have stayed true to being helpfull posters but overall its just gotten to the point where we come here, look to have a decent conversation on the game we are looking forward to and all we see are "AoC will flop" or "WAR will flop" kind of posts.

In closing I would ask the Admins of MMORPG to start helping clean this up. It has gotten out of hand. Delete posts, hand out suspensions whatever needs to be done. Its on us as mature people to help stop it as well. Even if someone makes a topic bashing your game dont post on it. Simple enough. No posts on a troll/flame post and they will drop off the main pages. If someone asks a question that deserves a serious awnser then go ahead, but no reason to fan the fires when they start up. I have been guilty of the same thing. The last few weeks though I stepped back and just observed for the most part and its gotten way out of hand. Lets ALL help clean up MMORPG and keep it a MMO site worth comming to.

Can't just say 2 of the most hyped mmos should be immune to flames.  What about use guys who are tired of the crappy cookie cutter western mmos that keep making the same mistakes over and over again?  I think its better to approach these overhyped bags of shit as a pessimist so you don't end up stomping them out when the flames start.  There are alot of trolls for every mmo, including things that just aren't true.  Often times these cutting edge and innovative games get pushed to the wayside by trolls and the overhyped garbage that is AoC and WAR.

How about reading my post? I never said they should be immune. The poblem is the amount. I think its safe to say  you are looking forward to Darkfall, Aion or TCOS. Arent you getting alittle tired of comming here and seeing the forum scroll on the main page filled with AoC/WAR threads? Guess what...nearly all of them are flame or troll posts. I know full well that every game is going to get these its the amount the past month or so thats getting out of hand.

BTW thanks for ignoring the reason for my post and trying to start a flame-fest right off the bat. Its crap like that that needs to stop regardless of the game you are looking forward to.

And no the opinions of people on this forum regarding these two games have gone so far beyone healthy pessimism.   And to CleffyII yes it is wise to approach MMOs (and politicians) with a degree of skeptism and pessimism.  But you must balance that with an open mind or your opinions will simply digrade themselves into the realm of complete bias.

Innovation or lack thereof not withstanding, I am immensly looking forward to AoC.  However before I started reading about AoC I did look at WAR and say to myself hmmm I'de give that a try.

Regardless I form no solid opinions until after release and after I have had a chance to try it.

I kind of agree with the poster, getting tired of seeing it myself. I dont mind when people have something real to point out and arnt being twatwaffles. take AoC for example.. only beef i have with it is the crazy system requirements.. but thats it, other than that it seems to be a pretty kick ass game. its not going to fail because of it. the fail posts are just retarded. i think they wont have a huge player base for a while untill the avarage player gets his/her system upgrades but that dont mean its going to fail. its going to be big. im saying that and im a WAR fan. why cant people like 2 games or even play 2 games? hell sounds good to me. i think most of the flames are posted by kids or adults with child like minds an just dont want anyone to play any game but the one they are playing. but this is stupid cuz as i said before... ranting an dissing on a game wont make it go away no matter how much you click your heels together an wish for it.. this isnt oz.
