Ask a question and you are stupid for 30 seconds, never ask and you are stupid for life. |
I am male and, my Assassin will be female...since I like the way female Assassins look more than the male Assassins. Not because I want "lol fre stuf plz" or because I want to be treated better or to look at "lol boobies", but because I like the way the Assassin female looks. The other classes I make will be male characters. Although, would make it harder to play on a RP-PvP server since I doubt I could roleplay a proper Conan female :P So what gender will your main character be?

Especially for female assassins i read somewhere that since they have very fast weapons and female attack animation takes longer than male, female assassins have a lower attack spd than their male counter-parts. Take that with a grain of salt until u test it in game though since i cant back it up with in-game tests. |

Amazing, in this polls there actually more women playing female characters than men playing female characters, good to know. |

When playing MMOs, I always make a character, which resembles myself in one way or another, playing different gender is not bad, but not for me, thanks. |

Never take life too seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway. |
Originally posted by Kyero About half, eh? That's an interesting statistic. Where'd you pull it out of? Nevermind, I already know... Personally, I plan on having both male and female characters. Some classes seem better suited to one sex over another IMO. |

I don't like to pretend to be something I'm not. So I'll be a guy playing a guy |

Female and also rolling female, although I'm thinking of at least rolling one or two male characters eventually. They just look better with certain classes or armor. On rp servers it'll definitely be female.
And like said before. Playing the other gender isn't bad. But to me it's only not bad if you don't pretend to be the other gender as well. Like in WoW were males often pretend to be female for loot or boosts. Things like that. |

Ok I will bite. I put down that I will play a female character. However I am male. I usually make female characters and this practice goes all the way back to my pen and paper roleplaying days.(I am 35 and have been playing roleplaying games since 83) I do it just because I like to play something different and I like the idea of a female hero. Granted fiction has gotten alot better, but female heroes still take a back seat in alot of stories. They are often pushed into the sidekick or hero who needs to be bailed out by the male hero role. I do not do it for the free stuff crap or because I want to stare at the "boobies" reason that alot of guys do it for. That is just not how it is for me and is also not a big deal. Anyone who comes from a pen and paper roleplaying game background does not even blink and eye when playing an opposite gender, or when a friend does it. Even some of the roleplaying games that I have owned made a specific point that it is all right to do. Hell even the great and late father of roleplaying games Gary Gygax had some opposite sex characters. Ultimately while I will probably make a female character for my main, it all depends on my mood. I went through a period of several months where I made nothing but male characters. I think it was mainly because I hardly had any and wanted to play something different

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic |
I am a guy and will play female character because they look cooler to me. |

In games it really just depends on how good the models look...in WoW I only played female characters since males always looked off to me...Same for EQ2. Everquest 1 I only had males...CoH/CoV I've leveled 100 characters and all have been male because in that game you can always find combinations to look good. DAoC I played both male and female,Anarchy Online I played Both. So most likely my answer isn't up there because I'll have some of each. Although I can actually make a decent looking guy in conan so going to start off with that. Most the time in games I try to make a guy and my girlfriend tells me to roll a girl because the guys are ugly. lol |
