Welcome to Age of Clonecraft You read my title correctly. Here on these forums and over at the official forums, many people reported that the max zone size in the wilderness was set at 50 for the final two days of beta. Every time you'd go to zone into an area you'd see no zone with more than 50 in it. I concede that this could have very well been in place to spread out the population for beta. If you cap all the zones at 50 before cloning, will you have the same 50 player cap for NPC cities and player cities? How will this cap size affect the border kingdoms and siege warfare? I don't understand how they could have it capped out at 50 wilderness grinding then lift the cap for cities and the like. If anyone with more experience in how the zoning for AoC plays out can comment, that would be greatly appreciated.

Originally posted by ShanniaThis has to be like the 4th post i have seen with your name on it that has just made my scratch my head... Did you play the beta? if so, were we playing the same game? up till lvl 20 i might agree with you that the cap is rather low for max number of players, but did you play it at 20? all the starter citys had a few hundred people there, the wilds (the aquilian second area can't remember its full name) had atleast 70 people all right near the docks pvping it up for several hours during the weekend....
So again i ask, did we play the same game? or do you just like to put out posts that make the game seem bad for some odd reason? |

Originally posted by nubs Let me make it simple for you. Once you leave town, you go into th wilds. The wilds seem to cap at 50. It is as if Funcom designed the wilderness to feel very lonely and mysterious by having so few people in them. Each time a wilds are fills up, a clone of that zone opens, and repeats this cycle over and over again. You could literally have 50 clones of the same exact wilds area with people in their hunting/doing quests before heading back to town. I just want to know how people feel about this zone cloning vs open world gaming. Does it hurt the immersion of the game by being in a clone of a zone versus say 500-1,000 people in the same zone questing.

Originally posted by Shannia the concept you are trying to convey is not the non-sensical part, it's the fact that you used the suffix "craft" which made me think you were trying to draw a comparison to warcraft. However after I read your post I realized that the use of craft was merely a misnomer. Thank you for attempting to make me understand your logic. |

Originally posted by spector75 Actually, I'm a huge Conan lore fan. I love crafting and as such I didn't even bother with the game in OB. I didn't want to waste my time not getting to where I wanted to go and that is to the crafting areas. Since that is level 40 and above only, there was no point in me doing the OB. I'm saving all that is Hyboria for me for retail launch. Most of my posts are inquiry or thought provoking in nature.

[MOD EDIT] As to a 'huge Conan lore fan.' If that's true, your gonna love the game at release. It oozes Conan lore and for anyone who has read all or most the stories, you'll be recognizing names, places, and even be adventuring in areas that are in the stories. [MOD EDIT] |
