Besides watching the download take place (93.2%) which for the past 24 hrs has been the highlight of my very drab and boring life, i was wondering what happens when i buy the game. Do I:

A. Uninstall the early access version and then install the purchased game

B. Install the game and not worry about what's on my PC

C. Throw the CD's on my bed and roll around for awhile since I'm pretty sure i'm going to get more satisfaction out of AoC then my current gf. Hey Now!!

Celebrating my tenth year of online gaming...gawd I need a life...=P

I think the early access is gonna be the same as the early access that we are d/l ( I am at 92.7%). The CD version you can use to decorate your shelf with. Or in my case, install on my other two PCs to see how the game works on lesser rigs.

As for you, your g/f n aoc disks...

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic

You realy just paying for the key and not the DVDs, but it is good to have around to install into other PCs without having to download it again if you already deleted the install client.

Jesus is the Sun of God

If you uninstall the client or get a better computer you might want to stick around with the discs. Also the box is nice on the shelf. And if a man chooses the game in front of his girlfriend then he does not deserve her. You should at least acknoledge she is there.

Est Sularus Oth Mithas

Im downloading the early access client currently, which is going slow as  heck, i'll add, and can not wait till the 17th. I plan on hitting at least 40 prior to the initial launch so that i have a comfort zone between myself and the zerg.

I'll probrably completely uninstall AoC a week or so after launch and re-download from the disc and re-patch. Im prob just anal, but I feels so much cleaner off the disc, Im pretty sure we're downloading unessessary files, but not postitive.

But...

The game specs say i have to have 30 Gig of space on my PC...the download is only ~14 Gig...so am i missing something? My assumption is that we're not downloading the whole thing?

Am I wrong?

I understand there might be patches when we go 'live' on the 20th but i just seems like there's a disconnect between what they specs say and how much was downloaded.

ONLY 5.5 MEGS to go!!!!!!!!!!!!! W00T!!

Call me a dweeb but the only reason i want to have early access is names - since i'm  not in the Beta the only 'fun' thing i could do is come up with the names i want for each of the classes i'm going to play. I'm trying to carry on the tradition of the names i've used since EQ. Yes it will be crazy and complete mayhem (ohh good name!!) the first few weeks but i'm really looking forward to it.
