SOE has posted a preview of Game Update 45 for EverQuest II, which sees a pestilence spreading across the land.

There's something going on at the Temple of Life in Qeynos and there's a blight that's spreading through some of the major cities! If you're of good alignment, seek to help those afflicted folks and travel to the Temple of Life to see if you can unravel this mystery!

If you're of an evil alignment, there's a fellow in Gorowyn that follows the Plaguebringer that may be able to explain what's going on. Take note too, with game Update 45, the present event ingame (the Shard of Hate event) shall come to a conclusion. If you're taking part in curing the hate or spreading the hate, please be sure to wrap up those quests while you have time!

Well this is SOE... so Im not surprised really. But, bleh.

Big deal, more of the same.

70% of EQ2 world is dead, dead zones with no point in questing or hunting there cause you have better items in the expansions.

Yet they continue with this mindless deja-vu updates.

Speaking of which, good job in yet putting more 1 HANDED WEAPONS in the game instead of upgrading the dying 2 HANDED ones.

No wonder few use 2 Handed nowadays, cause where's the bloody point in that? Broken 2H  trees and always the same 2H  weapons around  from 70  to 80, unless you're counting the one and only worth 2H in the game from Fens quest  -  the ONE AND ONLY worth  2H  in the game  -  now count the dozens of worth  1 handers out there in comparison.

The game is dying, unless they take extreme measures in refreshing the old world and keeping things interesting, i really dont see much for EQ2  this year and the next.

I posted a few months back that they really only release a few descent game updates a year and basically got reamed for it.  Honestly, I think this update pretty much proves my point.  This is just a filler update and nothing more.  I'd say about 2/3 of the game updates each year are just filler.

With AoC due to release I really thought they would have made an effort to make this update a big one... what a shame :(

I'm by no means an uber player or a fanboi or whatever.. but I do enjoy the game sometimes. Not sure if you saw the weapons upgrade preview but it looks like they're upgrading all the crafted weapons, 2hs as well. http://eq2.eqtraders.com/articles/article_page.php?article=g255&menustr=115000000000 Doesn't have the stats yet but I believe there's a post on the "awesome" official forums that has them. No idea if they're worth using or not yet but they did upgrade em. /shrug. Hopefully they'll be worth making and using. We need something to keep people playing.

Heres an idea: Make content that will make people want to return to the game! Fire Smedley and his Quest for More Money, hire someone that actually cares about the game and wants to see it flourish. Do some events, aside from the rehashed holiday ones. Bring back more of the gods, and give them fun events... not  like this crap they have now. What is that, 3D Ghosts and Goblins? xD

Me, I want Erolissi, and I want them to do something as big as they are doing for the plague god/SoH...
