A nice interview that has a great shot of the Greenskin's mounts. http://pc.ign.com/articles/873/873681p1.html But as cool as that is, it's not nearly as cool as the interview. Esp. this quote: "That is a dungeon that's going to be instanced and it's geared toward one group of players. It's our highest PvE dungeon in the game and we only require six players to do it." Sounds like Mythic GETS IT. /applaud. |

i read 1 thing i didnt like... "you can solo allmost everything" something like that ....so you dont really have to group up for some harder NPC beside in city-siege? !?!?!?! so, its gonna be one of those solo - offline games, untill endgame ? that really scares me, been looking forward to this game for over 1y, and now i get this information?!? /cry |

Public quests comprise of stages which require progressively more players to complete with a big reward at the top. However, you get the influence points determining your reward at any stage of the quest... So you can solo a PQ until it gets too hard for you alone and leave it but your influence remains. Later when you hear that some group is trying to down the boss, and that is a zone wide alert, you can join up (grouping is not required for the reward and each participant gets a shot at it) and claim your reward... based on the influence you gained by repeating the first (solo) stage of the PQ . So... even though you solo you can get group rewards. Ofc, a group will get there faster and at a time of their own choosing, but a solo player can get his own as well. Very smart system tbh.

Why So Serious? |
Basically to an above poster..the only thing you're required to have groups for are 1. Dungeons they all require 1 group of 6 players. 2. PvP if you want to live (but its completely optional since you can work with people and not actually group with them, this goes for sieging too. Youd ont have to group it just works out better if you do). 3. Instance PvP 4. Any and all Boss Mobs hidden, PQ, Dungeon, Keep, City wise require a group to beat (again optional since you can still fight said boss (except in dungeons) without grouping..if you want to beat it though you'll want more people but you still dont have to group except possibly for loot). The king boss is the exeption you obviously need / are required to have a group for this like the dungeons. The fact they're not forcing you to group inorder to progress is a fantastic move. The encouragement to group is there with the way the mechanics are set up and that is what games should do. Forcing people to do things always ends up in negative experiences, encouraging the idea of said things tends to make the final experience far more positive. |
