One think I like about how Mythic is developing this game:

a) big amount of closed beta testers.

b) not just 6 mobths or 12 months before lunch but almost since the begining of the project.

c) they listen feedback.  You can't make everyone happy but at least listen them all and decide what you will do based on users' feedback.

This is kinda new for the MMO industry and I think it will help to the success of the game.

For the most part, every game company listens to thier community. It's moreso how they use the information given, which lately has been against the community's. But to the guy who posted above, that could go for every mmo, and isn't something that is new to the MMO industry. And you could have a million beta testers and still have a crappy game. As stated it's how they use the information and how it's implemented into the game. And I dont know really what to say about your B answer but the game was in development for quite sometime before they allowed people in beta. And at this moment, there beta is super restrictive to certain computer specs. I don't even remember them stating that they have started guild beta yet, so they are far from being done. Either way hopefully everything works for them and not against them, because if this game flops, alot of people will be disappointed. Taking an AoC comment here, HEADS WILL ROLL!

And I think Mythic does this well. They take the information and they can implement it well, while still making it what they envisioned in the first place. I'm not a super vet expert or anything, but with DAoC, I think the only real mistake they made was Trials of Atlantis. Also CC and stealth being a bit over-the-top but overall they're good at balancing classes. The only itching fear in the back of my mind is EA...I've heard bad things about them and MMOs, so I hope Mythic really gets to control the reigns here. I'm pretty sure they are anyways, so I expect the game to take suggestions from the players and end up as something real nice.

Fortunately they admitted to the ToA mistake eventually and put up some servers that were minus the ToA expansion. But I agree, I am really afraid of the crap EA might try to pull in the future. I'm just waiting to hear a few months down the line 'NEW IN GAME ITEM SHOP! Now you can buy you're favorite trophies to decorate your character! Just $9.99 a piece! Hooray micropayments! Brought to you by Nabisco!"

Heh...now if you get the trophies from the Keebler elves then maybe...  nvm... it would still make me a sad clown. My concern with EA would be constant add ons that have nothing to do with WH lore, but I also understand that EA has new management since they destroyed UO. So I can only hope that the new guys learned from the old guys mistakes.

Current MMO: WAR Elder Beta
Rig: Q9550 (oc to 3.4), 8 gig ram, 500 Gb Seagate, 4850 Radeon, Asus P5Q Deluxe, Vista 64

AoC doesnt even have eyecandy anyway from what I can see. So there isnt that much going for it out of the starting gate.

Oh really?  name another MMO where the female models can run around with their tits out?

No eye candy?... lol,

Kinda sad when the answer to the question of "eye candy" for your fav MMO is boobs.

RL boobs are always better than pix3LTiT$

My honest opinion is that WAR and AoC will both be two of the top in the mmo genre, going head to head, with wow being the obvious big boy.

BUT, unless Wotlk gets pushed back(which i hope it does for WAR, but i hope it doesn't for myself) then i can honestly see WAR not really selling all that much.

The more info wotlk pushes out about it, such as 10/25 raid sizes, DK's filling their own tanking roll.  Flying/mounted combat.  As well as gorgeous areas(i'm sorry if anyone disagrees, but i feel style>quality and wotlk's areas scream style)... As well as the devs "apparantly" learning from their mistakes with tbc(which did improve the game vastly to begin with)

ANY game coming out alongside wotlk is in for a beating, and well... I really hope WAR succeeds since i really want to play it.

As far as the T-rating goes. This is confirmed.

Mark Jacobs hangs out at my site quite a bit, and someone asked him about the rating in the shoutbox. I can't remember his exact words, but the Mark revealed that the T-rating had a lot to do with GW's wishes.

Actually I'm not surprised. Likely the decision came down from somewhere in marketing in GW in that they don't want to lock the game into an older crowd because they want to get the younger generation into warhammer with the hope that they'll make the hop to the tabletop game or other franchises they own.
