how could people forecast that amount.....it's too incapable to hold for a new game.....

I'd guess inside the month they'll have 250k-500k accounts login and play. I don't think they'll even out at the high end of that range however-- I figure 3-6 mo projection would be 350k-400k. They have a nice looking game, but they didn't innovate enough to pull people from other games long term.

I think they'll do well in the low fantasy market though, people are overly saturated with high fantasy at present, its nice to have an alternative. I also don't think for several reasons they're going to have much of an effect on wow, I think they're going to have a far larger effect on eq1, eq2, daoc, etc...

To be honest though, there is no way to tell. I do think their launch is going to be quite rocky however.

A lot of peopel will buy it, there are a lot of people out there starved for new content.  The problem is that many of those purchasers will find out that their computer can't run it with decent performance.  My guess is there will be a lot that do not renew after 30 days.

This game will never approach Wow numbers.  Don't let the beta test sign ups throw you, a lot of those people will not buy because they could not get the game to run right.

This game might improve with age, Funcom does seem to eventually fix the problems, unlike Mythic which never did manage to plug all the leaky holes in DAoC.

This game is a no buy for a lot of us on release.  Let's hope they can improve on the client performance.

they said before how many players there servers can hold atm. I think they're set up to host up to 500k players but I could be wrong.

I think its likely they wont have enough servers. especially if everyone plays at same time.

the forums have been overloaded and are liekly down now because of the teeming millions.

Not many if they don't sort out the servers, which were due up an hour ago.  Hopefully, they won't keep postponing until the pre-order launch is over!

Probably. I never signed WOW beta, and later I played the game for years. And now I was in AoC beta and didn't even try to install it, and I won't buy the game, I will wait for a free trial.

Not sure abiout the first day, but I expect the game to have 250K the first month, and a million by years end
