I think it is funny how many people out their actually do not like pvp. I mean we are humans and we are naturally competitive. We always have been and always will. plus i think pvp is what you do when you reach lvl cap. what else is their to do? you can fight the same computer controlled monsters or whatever over and over again or go after actual people and have a different experience each time. some people will talk trash others will cry about something and some will bring up random discussions. this is why i like pvp its different each time. yea i know it may look the same but the feel is different. i guess some people are afraid to loose.

You just blurt stuff out, don't you?  No offense, it's very cute.  People just like different things, you know that.  Not everyone is competitive, in life or in games.  I love PvP in some games (I was quite addicted to Shadowbane) and in others I don't.  I enjoyed WoW for a while but didn't like the PvP at all.  Same with CoX... I'm still subbed to that but dislike the PvP.  Even competitive people don't have to compete in everything, or be competitive 24/7.   In fact, it seems as if there might be a majority who enjoy PvE rather than PvP.

How come some people likes pop music and others don't? Taste is worthless to discuss, it just differs.

Each individual is different (thank the non-existant god),therefore each has his/her own view of how things are,how things should be.People hate fighting or are weak at it,or are good at it,all of these could be reason why they dont like pvp.

And please dont bash people who like pve or carebears, cause in games where there is a player run economy, they are the ones who give us the items we need to feed or desire for battle, exemple eve online.Imagine what would happen if people all of the sudden stop mining, prices would skyrocket.

I can see that you have a totally biased opinion on pvp whether it is FFA or faction based, but the truth is after months of pvp it can get old extremely fast.  This is what drives people to kill “internet monsters” because contrary to what you stated, there is always something new it just depends if you are stuck or progressing in the content.

Ultima is the reason why I don't like PvP. I got murdered so many times by other players. The worst was when I'd be out harvesting resources/crafting for an hour or two, then suddenly a PK comes along and kills me, looting everything I spent all that time collecting. When I became strong enough to defend myself, I'd turn the tables on them and start kicking their ass when they attacked me. I'd get excited that I was finally gaining some revenge. Then, that's when my 56k connection would kick in, and I'd start lagging horribly, allowing them to either run away or kill me.

Having that stuff happen over and over again really wore me out on the idea of PvP, so I always stayed away from it in other games. However, Conan has me excited enough to give it a real try.

I'm been in all ranges of hardcore pvper, to hardcore carebear, and i have to say, hardcore pvpers are arrogant spoiled brats (mostly) while hardcore carebears are more normal.

Exceptions on both sides, like always.

I've spent hours, days, weeks, straight, roaming maps only to kill, grief, humiliate, other players.

Also spent weeks without end doing "controled" pvp (battlegrounds in WoW, for example).

In both cases i would win alot, same way i would lose alot.

After all that, i dont want any kind of game that allows others to "stop my fun", by jumping me while i'm questing in some place. But, i still love full fledged wars, of mass players vs players, particularly with an objective (again, battlegrounds in WoW, for example).

In the end i played about 4x longer in PvP servers then in PvE/games without PK.

And i can say with absolut confidence: ALOT of people playing in PvP server, do it only to show they are not cowards, not because they enjoy it...

What kind of pvp are you talking about.

Free open pvp can be a real pain if handled unchecked, like tens of thousands of uo players can tell you.

To add to it I dislike UO open pvp, which was often unfair and heavily connection/situation dependant. Roleplay pvp with rules and agreement from both sides was fine in UO.

I liked wow pvp which had defined victory conditions and rewards making it a rewarding playstyle in itself without ruining someone' else's gameplay.
