When i start my aoc client i get a fatal error:failed to download patch file, is this because their currently patching or do i have another problem to worry about? |

If you have vista make sure you update service pack 1 or service pack 2 for xp. |

Can you get the launcher up and go to settings? Verify/repair seemed to get rid of all my errors, but I had diff errors, worth a shot tho. |

The patching server is down while they apply the last updates to the servers. If it looks like the download bar is empty and it times out and then gives you the error, that's because the patch server is down. Try again over the next hour or so |

yea i have my vista completely updated so. i dunno what else is wrong. my friend install his actual game would he be able to access the early access through that client. |

the only difference between the preorder clients and the downloaded client is the preorder client installs with the option for DX10, where the downloaded client only installs DX9 |
