Age of Conan

This game is great. I am surprised how much smoother it is running and loading. Funcom did a great job. I played the beta of course older client but now in early access I am surprised on the loading is fast and the graphics are awsome. We need to hype this more so go and edit your hype or hype it if you havent done so.

don't get me wrong...I'm a total fanboi....but I can understand some perople may not like it, or may be hesitant to believe day1 rave reviews.

I'm just laughing about how everyone posts threads or comment on how all games are "WoW clones" when all games are cloned in some way or another :P WoW cloned alot of things from multiple MMO's it just added the good bits from others and made a hit :P Everyone had there preference for a game, and in AoC mine was altered by the fact none of the character models are proportioned right, so have fun with your giraffe neck monkey armed saggy bewbie womens :P I'll keep sitting in the side lines waiting for something more easy on the eyes in character detail. and yes to not be sexist the women are not the only ones monkey inclined the male proportions are all outta wack too. Unless in Conan's world they mated with giraffe's etc somewhere along the way wait..not giraffe I figured it out it was camels! That naughty Conan made lubs to the Camel he punched! Anyway have fun playing the game :P and again nothing is original anymore these days something always came from another idea :P

 Eh one things for sure I am not a AoC fanboi I played it in open beta was not impressed I will say this though they have fixed alot of the issues that beta had.For me I still don't have that addiction to it that alot of ppl are atm hell me and alot of other ppl thought Lotro was awesome first night we played it .I still think Lotro to be a really good game one that I still like better than this/Aoc is a decent game that will appeal to quite a few ppl for awhile I still don't think it will end up with more subs than Lotro in 3 months and not even close to WoW but heck 60l-100k active subs can be looked at as a sucess mmog makers don't have to sell and have 10 million subs to be sucessful.WoW put a bar up no one is ever gonna touch unless its another blizzard game.

   I may check back on this in 6 months or so but for now I sure don't plan on canceling my wow account I will wait for WoW expansion and WAR which is more of interest to me because of mythic making it.

It's visually quite nice, plays well and some of the details are quite attractive, but from first impressions, it's really nothing original yet. I see a lot of the usual mmorpg staples with a few polished knobs and new looking whistles, but they are all basically there in the areas i have so far explored.

Way too early to make any kind of assumption, the thing isn't even fully released yet and no-one has experienced the high-end content/pvp/sieges enough to know how that will actually pan out on live servers.

Still, so far, so good :)

Is the best stuff in the game made by the people? Crafting starts at level 40. Crafted items have"sockets", which can be filled by gems that are crafted by gemcutters. The best crafted items are equalt to the best drops in the game, including raid drops.

 

Does stuff wear out and break? No. And I don't really see the need for this mechanic. People claim that it kills the economy for it not to, but AO still has a thriving economy with no decay after seven years.

Have you took off your armor and seen if the armoro really  protects you and is not just something to look at? Yes. As a closed beta tester, that was one of the things that I tested out, and I can tell you, armor makes a HUGE difference. Heavier armor will also make you harder to "knockback", since you weigh more.

Can you wear what you want? To an extent. Casters aren't going to be running around in full plate, though.

Do you got to eat ? And if you do what does food do for you? Yes, you can eat. You can drink. Different foods have different effects...for example Mintbrew (a type of tea) will enhance your stamina, and out-of-combat stamina regeneration. Very handy for tanks.

Is there cooks in the game that sell the food ? or  can you get the food from any npc? You can buy the food from NPCs, or find it in the wild. Unsure about a cooking craft at this point, sorry.

Is it a game where everone get the same stuff at the same lvl? Each class will get automatic abilities at certain levels, dependant on the class. You also get feat points, which can be used in the feat trees, which also give you abilities, or enhance the ones you choose to specialise in. There can be MAD diversity, as even specialising in the same tree as say, another conqueror, you will have further specialisation choices within that tree. Using conqueror as an example, if I were to choose to specialise in "brute" (2 handed weapons), I could then firther narrow that down into DPS, or Defense, a combination of both, and further narrow that down into capping out a few select abilities, or a more equal "jack of all trades" build.

Even WoW ripped of ideas etc...

You can say that it's a warhammer clone basically.

Cloning is not a bad thing.
