Age of Conan

  Just wanted to let people who may be on the fence know that my old pc is running aoc with 50 fps on medium. This isn't my main comp but I wanted to post this as a reference for people who are wondering about their less than stellar comps.

          It's a amd x2 2.8 ghz. 2 gigs of ram, windows xp. 8600 gt. Runs like butter on medium, shader 2, shadows on character only.

         By the way. This game rules. I have been critical in the past. I was very skeptical of launch but they nailed it.

Glad to hear it runs well on lower end systems, Funcom must have been working like troopers to get it stable. As for the review, well we will all be in by then ,mate :) how about a review of your thoughts up to your current level? What you think of the game play and q's etc? A lot of us here who didnt get into EA are hungry for info. How about you let us know what class you are playing and how its been for you so far? That would be good.

i m very skeptical of the ops statement  . i have several pcs one with a nvidea 8600 gt graphics card pentium quad duo and ghz ram so if anything its slighly more powerful that the system he says hes running the game on. this leads me to the conclusion . there is definatly some performace issues with this system( before you ask all programs turned off in the background , cleared of spyware , malware etc , reformatted recently , defragged once a month and latest drivers always installed ) . the only system i find conan runs smoothly enough for me on is a high spec gameing rig. i know plenty of people with systems similar to the ops all have had problems so i tend to believe those i know .

this leads me to one of several conclusions

1. the op has only played the game in the open areas and posted before he gets tortage when he will be singing a different tune

2. the ops version of running smoothly is nt the same as mine .

3.for reasons only known to him he is being ecconomical with the truth.

conan wont well enough for most peoples liking on the specs hes listed even on its lower settings in populated area . if you have any doubts wait for a free trial , see how it runs on your system .

Very nice, and considering that the game will continue to improve (bugs,memory leaks,etc), I see a bright future for this game.

I can only assume that you are both being sarcastic???

If for one second you think that a x2 2.8, 2Gb & an 8600GT is for one second a 'low end system' then you have a very skewed view of the world of PC's.

I never really understood the thought of having 'new' games lower their hardware requirements, gamers are constantly asking for bigger and better things but people expect those developers to have a state of the art game to run on a 5 year old computer....

Here's a fact, hardware requirements will continue to get steeper and steeper NOT lower and lower. That's how its always been and always will be.

On a side note, my computer is 2 years old and runs AoC just fine.

Sounds great. I thought it would take more to run on medium-high. ^-^'

I´m thinking of getting this when the release in Euro on the 23 if I remember correct. But then I wonder, will my comp work good on Low and maybe some settings on Medium, hopefully Char settings, dont wanna run around and look like a doll. =P

My settings are following:

AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core 4200+ 2.20GHz
3.00 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT

And I got Windows XP Pack 2.

This game is fantastic and runing fine on my laptop whit 1GB ram intel duo core 1.6 and Nvidia  7400 graphic card whit 64mb memory thanx
