There is a sticky on this page saying that only people who bought the Early Access can log into the new offical AoC forums. From what I understand, the new official forums are now split into EU and US at the following links respectively: http://forums-eu.ageofconan.com/ http://forums-us.ageofconan.com/ Everyone who has preordered the game should be able to access the new forums through the forum login created on their account page. However, US players will not have access to EU forums and vice versa. {Confetti Mod Edit} The Age of Conan MAIN FORUMS at http://forums.ageofconan.com are currently only usable by Early Access members. While you're able to create a forum account, you cannot log in nor view any contents of the forum. The forums will be reopening with an all new look, new categories, and the like on the 20th. Hope to see you in Hyboria! PS. All threads about the AoC forums being unusable will be locked. |

How about people who have their retail key? If I register it, can I access the forums? |

and if you are not a subscriber you cannot even log in to read them it looks like. For a fence sitter like myself that is a real red flag. It is not like I can't find out what is happening by talking to friends and getting info from other boards where I trust the members. But still it would be nice to read the official forums and at least get a feel for the community and any hardware issues before shelling out 50 skins. I can understand if they only want subscribers to be able to post but seems as if they are trying to hide issues by keeping non subscribers from reading them. |

My guess would be that people who register their retail key also can update their forum login from the account page. Although, I am not able to test or confirm this myself. |

It could also be the case that seeing as the old forum got bogged down with people visiting it either as subscribers or not, then they're just keeping it to registers people so the thing doesn't come crashing down.
I can see your point about the red flag though - I havn't received my preorder code yet ( will be starting on 23rd ) so am relying mainly what's filtering through to here to get any news on how EA is going.
I'm sure if there were some serious major league problems then word would have got out by now. Perhaps someone with forum access could shed some light on whats being discussed on there |

There isn't really anything shady about not allowing people to read the forums. Yes, I can definitely understand that it must be hard not to be able to have the official forums as a resource for those of you on the fence. However, for those of us in the early access, the forums have improved SO much. Keeping all the random trolls and doomsayers away makes the discussions a lot better. No, they are not perfect, but there is a vast improvement in the quality of threads. Just don't take this as a sign that they are trying to hide anything. The game runs so much better than it did in the beta that it is amazing. From my experiences, there is ZERO lag and so far, zero crashes (although that should be a given... crashes in a retail product are unacceptable), and very few gameplay stutters (although that's due to my 1.66 ghz dual core processor and not the game). Anyways, this is a vast improvement for the official forums, and while I understand how it's tough for you guys who can't read them, just know that the forums are much better by limiting the people able to post, and you'll see that if you choose to subscribe to the game. I do agree, however, that it is weird that you guys can't even READ the posts. That's too bad... but only 2 days left and you can! |

I've merged both of our topics and stickied it for further discussion. :-) From my understanding it's completely EA only and whoever, preordered or not, tries to make an account you cannot get in. I'm a preorder and I can't get my little fingers into that forum no matter what I try! |
