Age of Conan

All I see on these forums is AoC is button mashing and repetative questing, yadda yadda. What do you think an MMORPG is?

MMORPG consists of:

Large player base online

Quests to help level

Grinding to help level

Large world to explore

Character customization

The list goes on but i see people on here asking for so much. The arguement about button mashing is laughable. Its a video game, how else would you control your character? Sorry but virtual reality isnt out yet.

Then I see people talkign about quests and how linear the game is. First off, just take a look at WoW. 10+ million players and THAT is a linear quest game. AoC is the same thing, WHO CARES? AoC adds epic mode dunegons which give you 6x exp and you can SKIP the first set of quests and go straight to the mainland around level 18. The game has  a lot to offer but it takes exploration and intelligence to see that.

On top of all this, AoC JUST LAUNCHED, ALL MMO's have a bumpy start. Even WoW took a while to get polished.

Overview: AoC is a VERY good MMO if you like MMO's. When you see a review saying, repetative grind, quests, yadda yadda, that player doesn't like MMO's. Go play Oblivion or GTA 4 but don't degrade this game cause you don't like MMO's.

AoC offers a lot from good graphics, combat, unique classes, PvP, story, guilds, crafting, player made cities, mounted combat, siege warfare. I mean cmon, if you dont have this game by now, GET IT! As for the polish, give it a few weeks to settle down and get patched up and itll be polished.

I think i ll pass i was looking for a so called next gen game which it s not , its the same as anything out there really.

How about you actually back up your claim with examples instead of just proclaiming its just like every other mmo out there and expecting everyone to believe your bs..And well your at it why dont you give us a definition of what a Next Gen MMO is exactly??? Please I would love to hear your explanation.

You won't see a next-gen game for a long time.

Why? It's NOT because they can't make one it's because companies are afraid of spending A LOT of money making an MMO and if it fails, they are screwed.

Only companies I see capable of making a next gen game and having confidence in it is Blizzard or SoE. Sadly, they probably won't because they make so much money on current projects.

Ok hows i don t like the game. I don t need to explain anything and who the hell knows what a next gen game is. All i heard was this crap claiming it was. It to me is no different then most MMOs out there, nothing else really to say. This is how i feel if you don t like it who cares. It s not bs when i m just statng TO ME i don t like it.

 thinks want a real life avatars , phote realist grahics  , like in a theater type movie .

cpme down too real life graphics.   take 10 to 15 years have gane like that,

MMORPG's :  IF they want to be good games need to let the players decide HOW they play the game.

The world must be so diverse in playing choices it must contain all the elements a player LIKES to play AND pay for it.

Lineair simple PVE quests are BUT one of these choices. The same applies for endless raids or dungeons. Only an option these days, never a single choice.

If the most popular MMORPG has simply already the most diverse number of playing styles in its end game (do you know ANY other MMORPG game that even has an e-sport following with prices up to 200K dollars?)

...it is just VERY difficult to beat it with even MORE options.

The makers of Conan decided that visuals were the way to go.

They forgot that the number of pixels didn't EVER make a good game. Within 5 minutes the player is used to his world. So graphs are a 5 minutes Wow effect and then gone. Not even talking of art.

The rest is pure copy and LESS options than the number one has to offer.

So the reactions are logical.
