If it was not for men, we all would still be trying to hit a deer in the head for food!

This is just one thing mmorpg game makers can do that will make your game alot better.

1 thing i say again  1.

Like in Metin 2  they have 6 skills for each class.

In metin 2 as a player you can raise every skill you have to master, that sounds good right?

Well think about it ,  if every class in the game can do this then no one is different.  Dont you want to be different then everyone that plays a mage?

To make this different all you got to do is give just enough skill point to master one skill and make 3 other skill where your good at them but not a master.

This way ,  say i take healing and master that ,  i cant  take lighting bolt skill and do the damage like  someone that has mastered lighting bolt.

See both of us are mages, but we have different lvls of power.

Plus you get stat point 4 per lvl, to put where you want , like in str, sta. int. dex. so on.

But that is ok because its up to you to put them in the right place, and yes stat points in the game make a differance .

And stat points can not be changed onece you put them in place which is good.

But skill points can be redone by paying a fee.

Well thats just one idea. to make everyone diff. from start to finish.

Actually I think I rather like the CoX enhancement system.   Ithink it does more than most conventional skill systems.  Now hear me out before you skills rulez all people start lighting torches.

In most skill systems the skills themselves to do PRED-DEFINED improvements.  So most skill systems are merely a variance in DEGREE not type.

If you look at the CoX enhancemnt system you can both change the DEGREE and the TYPE of improvement.

Therefore that system really has far more power customization than most skills point games where you can choose to be good or bad at some power or line of powers but you can't choose how you are good at them.

One of the interesting things about this system is that some things, like recharge times on powers, can be vastly affected making a certain power change in character to a large degree.  This system has its problems of course, one interesting side effect is that CoX is one of the only games where animations times have become so important to some people.

Basically some powers can be made to recharge so fast that its actually the animation that is the limiting factor on their damage.  Which is something the devs probably didn't fully account for.

Obviously locking down every power into a predefined number of progression is easier to balance.  But whenever I play different game I wind up wishing I could have real power customization.  Class/level based games like LOTRO make especially obvious but in the end I wind up saying the same thing with a skill point based game.  Because in the end it is still deciding how it makes it better according to some predefined equation.

Another thing that makes a game fun.

Is to have everything in the game crafted and  built by the players .

And dont have mobs drop money or weapons or armor  you say why?

Because what is the point of crafting something that you are not going to sell or it take 2 days to sell it even.    If you can get the same weapon or armor off a mob then you dont need no one to craft its a wast of time.

This way everyone in the game will have something to do to make money to live.

Even takeing up fishing in a game is a skill trade because you sell your fish to a cook.

Animal trainers , to train pets to any lvl is a skilled trade and sell your pets to ppl that  are not skilled trainers.

Carpenders need skilled tradesman the wood cutter.

And not only will this it self add fun,  IT ALSO GIVES US SOMETHING TO FIGHT FOR !

The land holds good resoruces in different places and everyone will have to find these places,  Once you find them and a enemy one day just happen to find a good mine that gives out alot of gold and metel ,  THAT IS ON ARE LAND AND IS ARE MINE, so there is going to be war there for along time to see who will own that land,

Dont that sound better then going out and hitting a enemy for nothing. Nothing , no loot , no xp loss,  nothing just a wast  of time ,,  and   you will get bored fast!

I been playing mmos for about 13 years i think and i know what will make a game fun .

Another thing to make  a game fun is to have full loot, and a  death penalty.

Gives someone enjoyment to kill a enemy trying to take over some of are resouces,  and it also keeps jobs going even more, Because you got to get new stuff.

Say your someone that dont work and rely on killing emenys for your belongings,

If you dont have good luck, then your up the creek with out a paddle.

When will "you people" understand that is merely a question of taste? And you are outnumbered.

Another thing that makes it fun .

To beable to wear what you want  IF YOU GOT THE MONEY.

Say you need to get somewhere and its far away and it is dangerous for your skill lvl.

With being able to wear what you want you can wear something that will protect you in the tuff parts of the land,

Now  when you wear this peace of armor it will not hold up to long being hit by these hi lvl mobs.

So if you do wear something for a hi skilled player its not going to last long at all.

This gos to the next fun thing.

Everything in the game breaks at some time ,  And breaks faster by getting hit by mobs way higher then you, That also includes players that are high skilled.

So see a high skilled tradesman will have some of the best stuff to sell because he donated alot of time in it.

Gives out alot of fun.  Something to do when you log on . People will say hey,,  where is grizzly  i want the best armor i can get.  And someone will say hey i dont know of him but this guy here is got some good stuff and cheap!

Something to login for.

I see your point!

But i only see your point in games that are out now. Why you say?

Because if you read all what i am saying you will find out that full loot is nothing to a working man that makes money!

And if you dont want to lose your stuff ,  in a all skill game just put alot of points in running and you will get away!

In a game that is NOT     player ran    player made items then i see your point and i would not want  full loot and death penalty  in  the game.

Only in a game that is player ran and player made , that i would like to see this in.

Another thing that is fun about this is that you will most likely get your stuff off your body because i dont think a enemy is going to take out everyone  in your town.

NOT less your roming out there on your own and someone just happen to see you.

Then your out of luck!

Also remember  places   like mines and stuff are all going to be surrounded by your own towns ppl.

Because towns are built by carpenders  and are built by the resources.
