yeah I bought the game yesterday and still haven't played a single minute. It's Anarchy Online all over again.

I agree with the OP. Yes I do understand it was just released. As for these problems we dont know about, they should of been  handled before release dont you think? I dont think its a stretch to ask for a product to work after you pay/purchase.

 

I dont pretend to be a tech of sorts or understand the in and outs of making/sustaining an mmorpg. I do understand when someone purchases a car you dont tell them " hey, you may not beable to drive it tomorrow because we didnt get all the bugs out". That goes for anything you purchase. its annoying and upsetting to put down 50 bucks for something, come home and install/patch and then see that its unavailable to play. A mere 24 hrs after launch and what some 2/3 days after the Free Play some got to participate in.

Im not here to say whoa.. games going to fail. Im here to say this type business model where we continue to test a product we are paying full price for is getting a bit old.  You can come and give all kinds of examples of how all the other mmorpg companies have done the same and we just have to deal with it, well im here to say you dont and you shouldnt have too.

Bottom Line, you pay for something it needs to be ready to roll.

when you think it as a product you purchase, you are right. but in my opinion mmos are more of a service than product. you join a club which has monthly fee, you want to go there whenever you want (or as advertised) but reality is sometimes pipes broke at the wrong place, sometimes overcrowded, flu alert etc and you cant. you may, as someone said "bitch" all you want, but the thing is, managment didnt want/expect it either(grammer?) its bad for their business also. if they make a habit of doing this you can always walk away. besides isnt the early access thing in fact free? i mean with what you paid (which was about 1/3 of the monthly fee ) you got 10 days of extra play time right?

also you are looking at the wrong place for sympathy, half the people here whined about not being able to get into early access, i would move along with a innocent-looking sky-aimed whistle if i were you

I'm sorry, but this is flat out bullshit. First off, many of us took days off from work to play this game during the first, essential days after launch. Now we get to sit here with our thumbs in our asses while funcom attempts to get their shit together.

You DO NOT take severs down during the day unless there's an absolutely crucial (IE Exploit) issue that needs to be dealt with in an emergency.

Do your goddamn maintainance at 3am, or whatever, like any other RESPONSIBLE gaming company.

Yes, I am pissed, and my credit card statement says I have a right to be.

I love the game, and will continue to play, but this shit better be sorted and FAST.

WTF? They should say like we dont know when the servers going to be up, but hopefully soon and stop making my hopes go up every time they say in 2 more hours. Hey it did just come out and of course theres going to be problems. So people go to forums and find something to talk about because i am not patient and i have no idea what to talk about.

I understand all this important bugs and stuff but funcom has to develop a system whereby  all subscriptions are automatically compensated for unplanned downtime

Whenever my internet company has a downtime they compensate us by giving us few extra days free.

We users have to petition Funcom that not always it is acceptable especially when we are shelling out money

I'm sure they knew at least 30mins ago that they weren't gonna come back up with the server. 

Enough will the fracking emos in this thread, MMOs always have issues on startup. Use all the 'lower your standards' posts ya want but computers don't always function exactly the way you want them too, get over it.
