Am I right? I don't wanna bust out, buy the first release, run outa content and bust out another $40.00 for Xpac or whatever it is they call them. That's kinda spendy for a game. How long for a casual player, do you think it'll take before having to buy one of the xpacs? I know there's only one officially, but anything that costs $40.00 like Faction, and those additions, are pretty much xpacs. |

There is a pack with all the expansions included a lot cheaper, $60 or so. Well worth it. |

Well,
My concern is spending $170.00 in a week on GuildWars because I keep on running outa content. But I suppose eventually everyone who sticks with the game spends that much. Unless there's that pack the person above was talking about, but I've failed to find anything including all the games. |

I have played for a little over two years now. and run multiple characters back and forth between Prophesies, Factions, Nightfall and Eye of the North and still have many places i haven't explored yet. I think that I have gotten a massive amount of fun for my investment, but that is just my opinion. I play warrior, ranger, elementalist, necromancer, dervish, assassin and mesmer class atm but have sampled every class available. Looking forward to another year of combat and exploration.

OMG! Ponies! |
To be honest I really don't think it's possible to run out of content in a week. There's no way you'll know the game well enough to be able to finish certain missions. Plus there's hard mode etc etc! I still struggle with some annoying missions and I've been playing over 2 years. |

I like airplane games. |
When I played the original Guild Wars and finished it, I decided to build another character. Before I even got far with my second character, I decided to create yet another one. I think character building and getting all the skills is one of the main and fun aspects of the game. And by the time I finished Prophecies with my third character, I bought all the other expansion packs and got started on Nightfall, which is where I'm currently at. Luckily though, I found good deals on the games and paid less than I would have if I just used the online store. |

I think GW is worth the money. At some point in every mmo things can get repetitive. Also you don't have to pay a monthly fee to play. |

To fight a necromancer is to see your afterlife should you lose... |
roughly.. if you can't find a special price.. however let's put this into perspective, I also play WoW though I admit not nearly as much as GW.. (mainly cause some friends play WoW) and I've had it for about.. 3 years.. counting the expansion, so far that's been a 655.64$ investment... |

Ive playd this game since the start casually off and on, somtimes id take a few months off sometimes id play for a month straight 24/7 I just beat the game around christmas and finally bought my first expansion - eye of the north - AFTER 3 years of playing.
Theres tonnes of crap to do in this game content wont be a problem. Even if you do rush and finish it its still worht playing during holiday events with all the prizes mini games and contests they got going. Buy it ... put it down pick it up youll spend way less than those scams they call monthly charges on mmo's where you pay 15 a month for what? FOR WHAT? WHAT ARE YOU PAYING FOR ? SERIOUSLEY NOTHING!! when they get more content you ahve to BUY IT tooo!! LAHAHAHHAHA SCAM so what are those monthly fees for? servers fees? right...
Anyway you should start with Prophecies first since its got the most content and get eye of the north with it which is the expansion. Eye of the North is the only real expansion to the main game, the other ones like Nightfall or Factions are just games in themeselves which I have yet to play and eventually will when Im done going through eye of the north. I stil havent even finished a lot of the main missions from the Prophecies and tbh I probably dont see myself finishing them anytime soon, ah well I can always install this game few months from now and continue where I left off without worrying worrying about my money draining every month for nothing. You buy the game you own it, like it should be ... play it whenever you want however you want this is the BEST MMORPG EVER MADE, best combat system, best graphics, best bug free super fast client, polished, everything you want in a game. Looking forward to GW2
If you get Prophecis + Eye of The North (they com bundled together now if you look) that should cost you $60... Ill bet you anything by the time you finish them you would have spent twice that in monthly fees in another mmo. For me anyway I would have spent 3 years in monthly fees, thats $540 for a game I cant even play when my sub runs out.. so whats cheaper $60 forever, or $540 for 3 years? |
