McCain for President

So with the release of AoC what do you recommend?  Only answer if you are currently playing the game.  I always hold off on buying MMOs from the get go due to the stinkers that we've seen in the past.  But I keep hearing good things about AoC, so what do you say?

I'm not a fan but it depends on what you like.  It is far from a bad game but I feel it is far from my idea of a good game.

eh its ok

def not in the top 5 MMOs I have ever played. It severely lacks depth. Its not as bad as Vanguard tho. Its ok. Id give it a solid 5 out of 10.

True Love Never Dies

It's a great game.

"Sometimes, things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. People are basically good. Honor, courage, virtue mean everything. Power and money, money and power mean nothing. Good always triumphs over evil. Love, True Love Never Dies."

"A world which has to create its own justice is a world without hope."

It's an ok game, but it's got the typical installation, crashing, bugs, server crashes, downtime, etc.   Personally, i should've waited a couple of weeks or a month for it to stabilize.  I keep crashing out of game which is no fun.

So i vote NO at this time.

Those who can, Play
Those who can''t, Flame.

I would definitely recommend it. It has great graphics, solid gameplay, and deep character progression system.

Um, not a single server has crashed since launch. It has bugs, and most the folks having crash issues are do to trouble on their end, not Funcoms.

But I can see not having fun if your crashing all the time. For me (and everyone in my guild,) the game is rock solid and very enjoyable. The 1-20 game is rather unusual but if you don't enjoy it, stick it out and it opens up into a much more broad game. I personally found the hand crafted 1-20 game to be quite enjoy able. Though I think they could have done with less instancing and zoning, though I can understand why they didn't.

I'd say no, the big reason is, if you dont have a "good or up to date" gaming rig, you 'll end up getting frustrated...Vangaurd had the same issue which became its downfall...I'm not saying AoC will turn out the same, but just dont get your hopes up...

But its really up to you...we can say all these good or bad things about AoC and you can just listen about it, or give it a try, experience the game for yourself and then make up your own mind.

alot of people like the 1-20 zone, I personally hated it

but its good advice to "stick it out" to see the game beyond level 20

There is a war going on for your mind.

I'll let you know once I get my buddy key.
