To live free is worth dying for. |
Apparently there was a huge ban wave overnight. The Glider forums are inaccessible. There isn’t much news yet but so far it seems like If you used glider in the past few months, you’re banned. For anyone interested, Age of Conan was released this very day. Good move on Blizzards part? I think they may just have lost a LOT of subscribers. I’ll keep updating this throughout the day! http://www.envy-gaming.com/2008/05/20/tuesday-may-20-2008-perhaps-the-biggest-blow-to-the-wow-botting-community-ever/ It appears Blizzard took out the trash...

Even if WAR doesn't succeed straight away, it's possible it could become a cult hit and grow like EVE online has |

Originally posted by MrVicchio It wasn't just these 2 programs, there were more involved, but Blizzard is being tight lipped about it because they don't want the develops to know who is being targetted. |

And we should be concerned that they banned people who are to lazy to actually play the game because why? |

They can become AoC's problem now. Customer who violate rules are not the sort of customers a company wants. The amount of money Blizzard spends on tracking down and banning botters is worth more than the measly $15 they pay a month. |

Originally posted by MrVicchioI think the concept of Banning someone is the company telling them that they are not welcome to play the game anymore. I doubt there will be a large uprising of support for cheaters getting banned, though I do expect tons of "QQ it was my brothers roommates girlfriend who did it while I was in the bathroom."

well if you actually think about it the best way to ruin a games longevity would be to send the worst type of players from your game to theirs so why not do it. i think it was a brilliant idea on blizzards part. people may think that blizz will lose alot of money but instead of just releasing some WOTLK hype on AOC's release day they just pissed all over Funcom's game by sending the worst players over there. guess this means AOC wil have the same community as wow maybe? |

You will have your own fair share of botting, it will just take a little longer to program as it will need many more trigger responses without auto-attack. Make no mistake, though...the people who made glider did one HELL of a job. They are plenty capable to make a bot for your game too. |
