so guess where the immaturity came from??

I left Set server two days ago. the /ooc was filled with immaturity. I was with the Guild "Eyes of Horus" there

I'm glad I'm holding off on this game, it seems the target audience was WoW players, and I hate WoW very much .... Darkfall will be more like Shadowbane , and people from WW will be completely out of there league in that title.

Out of their league?

I'm a WoW player. I mastered the original UO sandbox. You really think WoW players, some of which are at the bleeding edge of what is undeniably among the hardest MMO content in existence, would be "out of their element" in Darkfall?

You hate WoW because you didn't get it. You make fun of the players because you need SOMETHING to make fun of. I'm 27, a professional, and a gamer at heart. I can tell you that there are a lot of players just like me in the game. We're as good as you - or better. Don't worry. Say whatever you like as long as you feel good inside!

Please don't make me die of laughter.  There is nothing bleeding edge about WoW and it is definitely not among the hardest MMO content in existence.  It is fairly ordinary in content and not all that difficult.  Just time intensive like all raiding content is.

The average World of Warcraft player is not prepared for Age of Conan style PVP.  They get used to Arena PVP and they are just not the same.  Maybe that will change when WoTLK comes out depending on how Blizzard implements their destructible buildings and siege equipment.

Currently playing:
LOTRO & WoW (not much WoW though because Mines of Moria rocks!!!!)

Looking Foward too:
Bioware games (Dragon Age & MMO)

I don't even begin to understand how did anyone expect the playerbase to be more "mature" in AoC. Your average AoC player is probably about the same guy as your average wow player.

Newsflash: people are asses on internet. Being or not being an asshole an internet is mostly orthogonal to age, and also to "maturity". I know a lot of very nice and intelligent people irl who are complete assholes on internet.
I knew that guy who was in his fifties, with grey hair, CEO of a small engineering company. His employees called him grandpa. Well respected and pretty succesful in life.
Yet he is also the leader of a guild called "we are ruthless" who used to mercilessly exploit and bot in Asheron's Call, and he sounds like a proverbial 12 years old script kiddie on his guild forums.

Incidentally, some of the best spoken, humorous and clever people I know in wow are also ruthless gankers and griefers. Conversely, I've met many carebears who come accross as childish (especially the kind that decided to play on a PvP server yet don't want to ever be ganked).
Heck, I've had some very nice, polite and respectful conversations with a well known and despised ganker from the opposite faction on my server. Conversely, I've seen many blueshielding carebears teabagging his corpse in IF and spamming /spit.

So I wouldn't be so fast to generalize PvPers as immature kids.

Doesn't this game have a karma system like Lineage 2 and other PK games.

nope

there is literally no punishment or reward for PvP. Its just sensless ganking. Pretty bad.

Well they can always patch something in the future...

Beware the cult of purity
Infectious imbecility
I''ve made my choice...

On Cimmeria, we have about 15 guilds that would rip her a new one.  They wouldn't camp the spawn points, but the minute she left them, she would be followed until dead.

I saw a guy with a name like "popcornhead."  He had severe trouble questing.  I followed him for a while waiting to gank him.  Someone beat me to the punch... 10 times inside of 5 minutes.  It reminded me of how much I love RPVP in this game.  That, and seeing how much he was getting pounded, made me walk away.

You make no sense.  You get ganked in AOC and you blame it on the WOW community.  If there is any blame to be had it's the pvp AOC community, of which the person you ganked is a part.  In WOW you couldn't talk to the enemy, in AOC you can.  As far as the leet speak, I've seen it everywhere and from people of all ages.

If you don't like dying and taunts I suggest you try a pve server.  I'm on Wiccana server and I have yet to see a single naked girl.  People seem to be mature so far, but then to tell the truth the game has yet to give me a reason to interact with anyone.

White sands Isle ... very cool zone ... Lots of quests to do ... Good fun! Right?

Well yes. Until I get ganked by a L24 naked girl. No problem ... respawn and start again.

A minute later I get a tell from her. "LOL Here I com again!"

And I get ganked again.

"You really suck!!!!!!!!" she says.

While this one example isn't typical - it definitely stuck out the most - the game is pretty much an immature PvP gankfest. Topless girls. Spawn camping. Nasty gank whispers. Abbreviations (which people frequently refer to as w0w-sp33k, which of course as some people fail to realize has been around since LONGGGGG before WoW). Etc.

This has me trying to convince my friends to do something that I never thought I would ever do ... Reroll PvE.

I feel crappy just saying that. I love this game (so far, not made my final judgment yet) but I just can't stand the blatantly immature, opportunistic and straight out rudeness of the PvP community.

So many people dis the WoW community, which does have it's share of nasty kids, but so does RL. . . It's just life. I don't know. WoW never, ever, for a second, made me feel like rerolling PvE.

Well i think people doing stuff like this should go see a therapist, really. But i think in a month a lot of weird people like this one will leave.

if i turned off /ooc i minus well play a single player game because the /ooc is the only thing in AoC that even remotely reminds me of an MMO. I dont even see people hardly anymore because the zones restriction is too crazy
