A very interesting game is coming, called Football Superstars. http://footballsuperstars.com/ The interesting thing is that it is not just about Soccer. They have a Soccer star lifestyle part to the game. |

For soccer fans (football in Europe) Football Manager Live http://www.footballmanagerlive.com/
Wiki Football Manager Live is a massively multiplayer online game being developed by Sports Interactive. The current release window is Summer 2008, but was announced in April 2007 in order to give fans the opportunity to partake in a year-long beta testing period. The game is set to be released for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X. Sports Interactive has announced that the game will require a monthly subscription fee, which they believe will cost about "the price of a few pints per month to play". Gameplay Football Manager Live differs significantly from previous Football Manager titles, whilst keeping the same match engine and many of their fundamental concepts. Users are assigned to a "game world" of approximately 1000 players and create a fake club that can then sign real players, similar to fantasy football. Players are signed via an eBay-like bidding system with the player signing with the highest-bidding club] Players age one year for every month in their game world. Whilst the game's database uses players from the real world, after one year in a game world a majority of the real players will disappear, as they will have aged by 12 years and will probably have retired. Clubs can then create a league or join an existing one and leagues can be linked together with promotion and relegation between the levels. Matchmaking for league fixtures is done through a "resolve by" system in which users have to finish a game by a certain deadline instead of having to meet online at a specific time. If a player cannot meet the deadline, an AI assistant manager takes over his or her team for that match. The game also adds an RPG-like skill training system for users. Managers can impove their skills over time in areas like coaching, tactics, fitness and scouting to become more specialized or to suit their style of play. |

OMG I was just thinking about this. I think its a great idea having a management type MMO around football. However they would need Avatar's and places to go etc. Imagine going out to watch a game and actually picking players that way and then bidding on them. Purchasing a stadium that you can walk around and improving it that way. Building better change rooms, hotel rooms. So many things you can do... |
