In VG though when you get to the top and see distant things you can go there!

Man, i was just thinking the same thing. What`s the point in having a nice view when that`s all it is, a nice view.

VG beats AOC for draw distance and views hands down.

Was just about to comment but agreeing with the above theres no need.

Very very pretty graphics not a lot of substance, lazy raid endgame so not worth investing time in sadly. I plan on slowly leveling my char to 80 so i guess i'll run down the free 30 days i have.

I think AoC would have made a nice single player RPG. I find myself just playing solo and only teaming up occassionally with someone to take out a "boss" (thought the meaning of the word boss seriously has changed since last i played an MMO). I want to see where my destiny quest goes and i want to know what happens at the end. I hope i reach that before my 30 days are over.

If you don't subscribe and just consider this a single player game for 30 days, i think the value for money is ok. Of course you can't take the game out in a few years and play it again for 30 days, but not much you can do about that.

So has anyone found out exactly how many people can be in an instance yet, or are we still guessing? Also has anyone been to the high level instances yet and found out if the Border Kingdoms one is finished (for castles and scheduled PvP siege instances)?

Word on the official forum is that the max is 50 per instance. Nobody has tried to refute that in the official forums yet.

If the max is indeed more than 50, I imagine people on the official forums would jump all over it instantly and shoot it down. So I'm guessing it could be true.

It is also interesting to note that prior to the release of the game, people were swearing left and right that the game "opens up" after lvl20 and there is MINIMAL instancing.

Now most of them are saying "I am grateful for instances! Crowd control is one of the things Funcom has done right."

Wish these people could make up their mind.

If you try to fail, but succeed, which have you done?

The pen is mightier than the sword if the sword is very short, and the pen is very sharp.

People seem to be reading linear in its' literal sense of 'go in one direction' sort of like Conall's Valley is (regardless of people arguing that you can climb the walls).

For me linear is  'Run over there and Kill XYZ mob'. Done. Run back and talk to quest giver. Oh thank you for killing XYZ. Now can you go kill 123 mob'...which ends up being in the same 1 square mile radius as XYZ, or at best, the next block over. The bulk of the difficulty in quests is having some elites thrown into the mix near the normals. In no game without UBER gear (I hate the word) should a player be able to hold off and beat 7 or 8 mobs 2 levels above the players level (and yes, I mean without exploits..toe to toe slugging it out).

Today I got a hat. Yes a hat. The stats were slightly less than the one I was wearing from an  end of quest reward, but I wore it anyways. Why? It had horns. I was different. I look 'outside the mold' from 85% of the other players.

Then too, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised but generally I am when I am gratuitously insulted for no reason. When i was in Tortage I was helping people, answering questions and giving small quest hints when people asked. Then someone brought up the subject of the game as a whole and who liked it. I didn't say I hated it, just that it wasn't my favorite and that i wouldn't sub when my month was up. Wow! The insults started flying. People telling me I was $#^&^!! for leaving because of BUGS (I told them several times i I wasn't leaving because of bugs but because of game play) and to get the sand out of my (female anatomy begins with V) and what kind a F*&*ing A****le was I ...damn. (Actually several people also stood up for me and mentioned that I was entitled to my opinions and that people obviously weren't reading as I had stated my reason for leaving did not include bugs< kudos to them). Shock and Awe, folks. Shock and Awe. It still amazes me that people will actually take the time to spell out vulgarities and post them in forums and chat. It serve to sway people to your way of thinking. Most people will either skip past it and 'avoid making eye contact' or just plain ignore just a textual addition. *shrug* I guess it's the way of the world, these days. Somehow though it's a bit disappointing.

Anyways, that left a bad taste in my mouth, so that's why I am here posting.
