Age of Conan

I'm curious how these two classes differ, since they're both melee oriented rogue classes.

I haven't played them but my guess is the rogue will have better CC than the barb  and squisher than a barb.

I am unsure about the dps though I assume the burst dps of a rogue is higher than a more sustained one of a barb.

More importantly, barbs will be the melee dmg dealers in group vs. group pvp but the rogues might not be accepted into regular group vs. group -stealther groups are an exception-. This was true for Dark ages of camelot and AOC keep taking/border areas are similar to the old realm vs. realm pvp combat in DAOC.

Hope someone better informed would comment on this.

I play a Barbarian and I love my class with a passion.

As a Barbarian, we very rarely stealth. We can in a pinch, but it doesn't fit the play style. Especially if we get spotted before we get on top of someone. (Which happens 80% of the time)

I rush into the center of a group and AoE Stun/Knockback/Root the whole group. I can take down 3-5 guys at the same time.

Assasins from what I am told have trouble with more then one target.

But I'm a Barbarian nut, so I'm a bit biased.

Total adrenaline rush!

I tried Barbarian first... loved it but rerolled on another server with bro... so tried a few classes but stuck with Assassin... got to 12 and rerolled Barbarian... tired of playing the sneak i think... played a burglar in lotro.

as it stand currently the barbarian is better then the assassin in almost every way..  it has all the bonuses assassin gets but none of the disadvangates

for example  the "backstab" that assassin get is a huge chunk of the damage they do..   barbs also have the same thing..

assassin can take maybe 1-2 combos if taht in pvp before they die..  barbs can take 4-6.. usualy

barbarians have CC    assassins have None   unless you count snap kick.. which is a knockdown and DOESNT WORK in pvp

barbarians weapons have insane dps compared to assassin weapons..

at lvl 40 a Good assassin weapon has about 40 dps...  a good barbarian weapon has almost 60 dps.. and im talking a good barbarian duel weilding weapon not a 2h weapon.. a good barb 2h weapon has about 70 dps.. at least the ones ive seen..   

so currently barbarians have more health/armor/damage and CC  then assassins     hopefuly this will be fixed ..

Just to clarify things, Ranger, Barbarian and Assassin are all in the rogue line.

Primary weapons for pvp - Ranger bow, Barb 2h, Assassin dw.   So, the question would be which weapon would you prefer to use?
