Age of Conan

Now that I am in-game and loving it (thanks to those of you who helped me in earlier thread), I rolled a ToS.  I know they have some bugs atm, but man, this class is weak.  Has anyone tried one yet?  It took me a couple hours to get up to lvl 10, whereas a Guardian I rolled to less than 30 minutes.

Is it gimped, or are all priest classes like this?

Other than that, this game is amazing.  I squealed like a little schoolgirl with my first fatality :)

Priest bumpage?

This is confusing, 50% of people are screaming that ToS's are uber OP and the other 50% whine that they are weak and crappy. So what is is : /!?

Tos are a unique class.

They are a healer, but use mostly AOE attacks for damage, and utilize CC (Alot of CC).

Lower lvls they can be a pain for an un-trained player to play. But have the tools there to be a great class from the start.

Higher lvls ToS seemed to be getting better and better.

They do have a few bugs that players exploit to lvl, and or kill people (Which i think most of have been fixed or are being fixed today actually).

That said, you cannot judge anything in this game at low lvls.

Nothing matters from lvls 1-79. 80 is where it begins and ends.

All classes are great and pretty balanced atm,  yes a few do need small changes for balance issues. But there not gamebreaking.

Why anyone comes to forums and bases there game buying, or class role off them is beyond me (Esp' these forums that are filled with nothing but Numerous Fanbois or the hardcore trolls).

Bottom line you cannot pick a bad class. No one knows 100% how PvP is at lvl 80, or even what it will be in the future.

TOS is a healer, AOE, CC'ing cloth wearing speall weaving class. There fun , really fun. But so are all the others :)

I tried it. I didnt really like it. At higher lvls your spells were very weak compared to the enemy's HP and your heals were generally weaker than the output of damage the MOBs were dishing out.

I rerolled a conqueror and loving it.

I chopped off three heads at once last night.  Never did that before lol.  Lvling through the Conqueror about 4 times faster than ToS.  I only played ToS until lvl 29 and just put it down.

This is also the first time in a MMO where my main is now longer healer and the first time in a MMO where my main is a Tank.

I have a 36 Tempest of Set on Stormrage.  I have specced mostly in the Lightning tree and I do insane dmg, both direct and AoE.  The healing is not the greatest, but you get two Heal Over Time spells and a self-centered AOE heal. You can also wear light armor, not stuck in cloth. 

Overall I like the class - my biggest complaint is there is no "Off Me" spell.  The priest gets a knockdown and a fear, but all we get is a 5s stun (that now breaks on dmg) and a 5s aoe root (also breaks on dmg).

TOS is a fun class to play.  The Storm Field is awesome. I cannot survive without it :)

Hmm, everything I've heard about ToS says they dish out serious damage. I know they have been nerfed (totems) and their spellweaving was taken away temporarily due to an exploit.

I play a priest of mitra and I'm told they do more damage than us and I level fine. I think PoM have more survivability. I don't nuke things down quickly (pretty fast though, especially if they are lower level than me), but can generally survive several mobs on me at once and downtime is near nonexistant. i'm pretty happy with the class

They are indeed weak when you're low level, but as soon as you hit level 30, the Storm Field is awesome.  The SF aoe rocks.
