OP, every hear of the old saying, "if it seems too good to be true, it probably is"? Sorry, but they brought on themselves.

All that it takes for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing..."Edmund Burke" |
I am in agreeance with those that feel that exploiting the game is cheating. It all boils down to uber guilds taking advantage of an unfair situation and then later using it to gain control of a games economy where it ends up costing 100 plat for a spiked club. And if you aren't in one those uber guilds later on when raid and epic gear come out, you aren't getting it because you can't afford thier prices and you aren't in thier guild. Now this might be an extreme look at things or even slightly dramatic, but in the end, you add enough "little" exploits up and super guilds with massive numbers, you end up with economical domination in a virtual world where everyone pays the same monthly fee and deserves the same chances and opportunities to have fun. |

Hell yes they should be hit hard. They should have their accounts banned and ip addresses as well. Cheaters never win, and they never stop. Once a cheater, always a cheater. If you have to cheat in a game or "take advantage" (same damn thing as cheating), then you fail and should not complain. |

Exploit means working AROUND game mechanics. Meaning, you can magically duplicate items by performing a sequence of events that leads to that end. Finding broken game mechanics and using them is not using an exploit or cheating. Meaning, you find a quest that can be repeated that is not normally repeatable and you do it a couple times or as many as you want. If AoC is banning people because of their broken mechanics this will be THE FIRST MMO to do so. Not one single MMO before this has banned people for doing such things. They just hotfix the situation and move on, cause they know its their fault. |

All good things come to an end, but the road goes ever on. |
Dear OP, Taking advantage of is still exploiting and cheating. It's not something you do, even if it accessible. You should quit being an engineer and start being a defense lawyer for rapists. I can see it now... "Your honor, she was walking alone in a dark alley. She obviously provoked my client into raping her. He did nothing wrong, he followed all the system's rules. He walked, he approached her, bound her, gagged her, and so on. Reality works in a way that these actions are fair game. And honestly, I don't think rape is the correct term since she was openly available to the act. Surprise sex is more like it." QQ OP |

Originally posted by j_jonson GREAT! I'm glad to see Funcom making people pay for their actions. Regardless if they exploited or went around game mechanics, they KNEW what they were doing. You can't tell me these people thought Funcom put a repeatable quest in to give people an avenue to get from 35 to 80 in two days do you? Now, if they'd open Griefer's Prison tomorrow and deal with gankers and griefers with just a heavy of a hand, they would be two for two and deserve my business regardless of missing content or not!
