AOC is one of the most shallow games to be released as MMO game ever.  And the few parts that make it abit deeper and challenging are broken....

And you're in all out hate phase. I doubt you would find many people saying this game is for everyone. That's just a bad generalization, you don't like the game, we know. Labeling those who disagree with you with derogatory comments is just silly. Unless this is how you amuse yourself....

I think it's how he enjoys himself.

Nickname's "AOCtester" after all. Created account just to troll and bash AoC. Not very bright I know, though it doesn't matter, he enjoys it!

the Force is weak with this one...

Shallow? Explain that one, lol.   The game is a week old and has a strong fan base even here, where we all know the trolls live.   AA's werent available when EQ1 launched but now the are a very important part of the game.   A  list of up coming additions, ie. traders.. and fixing one spell for one class (Spellweaving -- ToS class) is hardly a big issue, even with the ToS peeps I have talked to in game.   I havent even started crafting yet, but I know there are like 8 different types of crafts, I have been to LP and seen trainers.  You have player cities and food/drink buffs and mail system and a decent storyline.

Just wondering which game are you comparing AoC to that makes it appear shallow.  I guess a better question is when are you going to actually play the game, ROFL!! because you obviously havent yet.

PS.  Get off the island, 10-15 hours of play time at most for me, then post about content and features.   That is the least you can be after a $50 investment in the game P.   This is MHO.

The "this game is awesome" -this "game sucks" stuff happens for every new game.  Usual fanbois, trolls and haters all scurrying about looking to post.  The true measure of a games "success" is how it fares 2, 6 and 12 months out.

Tabula Rasa, POTBS released with good buzz, plenty of fanbois and plenty of "Wait and see" type stuff.  Both by every measure are total failures.

EVE released with no buzz and by every measure its a wild success!

You can spin, you can market, you can work the reviewers but if in the end your game sucks the market will tell you that with cancelled subscriptions.

AOC imho does not advance the genre.  There is nothing in AOC that is "better" than what came before.  Its "fine" i reckon but i think in the near term it will be just another release, just another game on a long list of "decent" MMO's.  To those that enjoy it-GREAT! to those that bought it and hate it-GREAT! we'll welcome you back to lotro/wow/eq2 etc.  To those that dont care-GREAT! there are many other games coming.

For me AOC is a bust.  The instancing kills it.  The lack of innovation kills it.  The fundamental problem is "good enough" just isnt good enough.  New releases are competing with quality old releases-it must be BETTER, it must be innovative, it must be different!  If its not-its difficult to justify a switch from quality titles like eve, lotro, wow, eq2 etc.

Amarr Victor!

Hehe, check out a list of wishful features that will probably never see the light of day.

Huh, what? Nothing's been scrapped - wth are you talking about?

You serious?

You're promoting Darkfall, and tauting the 100 page list of features they claim to have fully implimented, yet no one alive on the planet has ever seen the game nor played it. Is that what you are saying? LOL!

Until someone actually gets a chance to either play a working build of Darkfall OR a major game review site is invited to check it out, there is NOTHING to discuss.

We can all come up with an "endless" list of features we'd like to see in an MMO, but that does NOT make an MMO reality.

There are actually people who have played it and written about it. If you actually care, search it.

For all its flaws, AoC is released. Compare it with Darkfall is like comparing a living human with a ghost. Some will say it doesn't exist. Most will say that no comparison is possible. A selected few believe in ghosts.

Correction, a game has been released. That game which Failcom promised, or even half of it, is NOT released. No siege, no trading, no dx10... all those core features are missing, they don't exist until proven otherwise.
