"Adjusts ponytails and pulls the lollipop out of my mouth"

You play some games and you just can;t stop playing them.. but then you play some other games but don;t see a reason to be on them when you don;t have guild events and such.. so what is it to people that make a game soo addicting that you want to play it even when there is not guild events?  I have my own ideas on this but I would like to see what others think about it.

"Happy Little Trees"

Alot of peeps play these games just for an escape not because thier addicted. They deal with real life issues daily and they play to do what they want to do not what what someone tells them to do.

I've played WoW alot and I played LOTRO alot and the guilds in both of these games were quite different for me. Lotro guild was peeps that liked to craft and bang on some baddies once in a while. WoW guild had a structure with things to do daily, both Pre BC and Post BC.

They are done playing and moved to something else when they get tired of it I guess. Kinda like myself. I bet my WoW guild is wondering where the hell I am. I just logged off one day and don't have a desire to go back. At least not yet. I'm too burnt. So for now I'm looking around at other games reading posts and just chillin. Possibly got booted from my guild by now, but I don't give a damn.

I intend to live forever -- So far so good!

Quite frankly I don't think I'm one of the people who has an addictive personality.  And I don't think I've ever experienced the need to log in and play.  I always did it because I wanted to play and always with some sort of goal.  I never sat idly in the capital cities "waiting" for things to get going.  When ever it got to that point I'd just walk away.  I figured at that point I was just paying for a fancy chat room and would much rather go out and do things with my friends then sit indoors while it's nice and sunny outside.

Even now as some of my friends are playing in game right now I'm not there because I don't really feel like it.  Then again my friends, just like I, do things on a whim.  I've known them for about 14 years and we've all come to understand this and even expect it.

Other then that I really don't know what else to say.

I had the addiction problem with mmo's, but I'm not sure its the actual game then the social environment.  I throughly enjoyed the friends I made online and cherish the times we had together.  Then as my rl friends grew more and more, responsibility, and much more interaction with people in the rl, my enjoyment of the online experience evaporated.  Now I can hardly find reason to be online, the social interaction isn't the same and I really no longer enjoy it.  As for game play, same script different graphics, its always aobut going from 1 to X and getting Y loot along the way, hasn't changeed and isn't any fun (FOM was different and I do kinda miss that).
