Tell me, what is so good about this game?

AoC is pure quest grinder! Nothing more.

There is no content besides quests and pretty graphics.

This is not a PvP or a PvE game. It's a quest grinding game.

In PvP games you have some sort of PvP system or PvP objectives besides ganking.

In PvE games you have dungeons that are somewhat important.

People who praise AoC on these boards have low level chars.

They like to label others who critique this game as trolls.

I guarantee. Most of them will be gone after lvl 40-50.

If you ask them what is so awesome about it, you will not get any good answer besides graphics.

I've been waiting for a year to play any decent MMO. And right now I don't even want to log in to play AoC.

Because I know all I'll be doing is grinding quests.

All that it takes for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing..."Edmund Burke"

If I may Big, might I ask you some questions?

What other MMOs have you played, for how long, and what classes/races were they? Just curious for conversation's sake.

A tiny mind is a tidy mind...

Ok here we have another one. Quest grinding. Now I wonder why others are complaining about lack of quests after lvl 40?

And another question, who or what in the gods name are you, that we should take your word as guarantee?

I've played EQ1. LvL60 Necro on SZ, LvL 65 BL on RZ, and a LvL 60 Druid on Brell.

Next I played SWG got to TKM and then quit like everyone else

Next was WoW. Several lvl 70s, just like everyone else because that game is easy. I botted my last 3 70s though. So only 1 did I actually lvl. The game was boring. I sold gold and accounts.

I played AoC up until I hit lvl50 and realized that the game wasn't for me. It reminds me of WoW with all the quests, but is worse than WoW in the sense that the zones have a player cap, and that it's so damn linear.

I do like the fact that it has FFA PvP, that's a plus but not enough to keep my subscription.

I'm a huge fan of sanbox MMOs, but that doesn't mean I wrote AoC off completely because it wasn't a sandbox. Hell, WoW was fun the first time through. AoC is lacking something...I can't put my finger on it...probably cuz it's not there...but I can feel it.

Oh well. Hopefully WAR won't be a disappointment otherwise I have no idea what I'll do for fun when I don't feel like going out, working out, writing, or listening to my girlfriend bitch.

I guess CS, DoD, and CoD4 will have to do for now.

-edit-

BTW, I'm not the OP. The game feels like a console RPG, even after you get out of Tortage.

And I'm not a fan of the WoW quest grind system. I like it when quests are an addition, not a means to the end. This way they would be able to focus on making quests having a point and making them epic, not just a "Kill X amount of mob" or "Collect X amount of Z". It's pointless. They should have epic quests like the Shawl quests in EQ1 and other ones that took you like a week or more and would need groups and even your guild to help raid certain mobs/bosses to get the pieces you need for the quest.

NOW THAT'S A QUEST!

After 50 is where the real grind starts. You will  wish you had some quests.

I've already uninstalled the game, and I don't like quests in the beginning anyways.

I just hit 41 and am having a blast.

I've grouped plenty in my trek so far, and done a handful of the dungeons, all of which were fricking awesome. AoC has outdoor and indoor dungeons to avoid that damned repetative feel of, o look, another cave. They also have put some of the group content out in the middle of the zones, which I enjoyed as well.

I don't see the problem with quest grinding. Would you rather not have quests at all?

Also, PvP will have siege battles and minigames, not just ganking, perhaps you'd be happier on a PvE server.

Also, PvE has (will have) not sure, around 10 end game dungeons with tiered gear.

I don't see what's missing. And for playing with friends, you can change instances to your friends, and communicate accross instances, you just can't see everyone. I would HATE this game without the instances, I already spend enough time spawn camping.
