Vanguard: Saga of Heroes

Hello everyone.

I am an ex-SWG and current LOTRO player. I was drawn to this game by a recent positive comments on this forum. Whilst I  have had a bad experience with SOE (namely SWG) I dont sit in the "I will never touch anything with the SOE logo again" camp. After purchasing this game and spending the best part of 6 hours downloading and installing, I logged in an was seriously underwhelmed. However, I persisted and am glad to say it all started to click into place. I think the diplomacy system is a unique and well thought out idea, and just the kind of thing we need in the stale MMO market. I've not run into to omany people as of yet, I think I playing on Halgar?, but I'm guessing that will change once I start to hit the higher levels.

I really do hope this game does get re-launched and becomes a great success, as it would be a shame to see a poor launch be the games downfall when it seems to have so much to offer. I would also lke to say that I have not experienced  single technical hitch so far, and I am happily running it on max detail with good frame rates.

Halgar is the EU server and has less population than the two US servers.

Additionally, the population is currently at an all time low because of the release of AoC.

I guess as AoC seems to have little longtime playing value, people will come back. Anyway theres a flood of new players coming recently into the game, which is great.

Im playing on Halgar and the population is fine. While not as high as on Seradon, it is a bit advantage sometimes. You don't need to compete with other groups for flying mount quest for example.

I think the release of AoC will increase the VG population. There were many people waiting for it, and indeed some portion of them will be turned off by the game, and will eventually try VG.

Yes it's growing atm, and if there is one thing that a growing community brings it's haters. So be sure to see more bashing on these forums in the coming months.

almost every day on Seradon there are a dozens of folks that are either returning to VG or are totally new players. I see low levels LFG's and have never had a hard time finding a group when I needed to.

I agree that VG is a grower, for a while it was a game that I hated to love, I left and then recently came back after a newly released MMO didn't quit pan out for me. Now after GU5 it is a game that I love to love (runs a heck of a lot better for me now).

I just started 5 days ago. Get to lvl 15 and its a blast!  Seradon is good. Its a game that starts out kinda slow.  Gets realy adictive and fun when you get the hang of it. I started with the pvp server. Not many people there :(. This will change with the free trial they are doing, I hope. PS. They need to have wars for guilds on the none pvp server.

Its a Sandbox.

Really having fun with this game. I'm a diplomacy addict lol :)  Everything is well done.

SOE, keep on trucking, I am amazed how you turned this wreck around.  Put some more effort into it and this could be the game of a lifetime!

Well last night I experienced the delights of harvesting. Another great feature. :)

Yup gotta agree the game is a totally different game than it was at launch ! Top marks to SOE for doin such a great job .. having a real blast with my Cleric and my Monk.
